(ICI) (1987-Present) Chairman/CEOo ICIs business is to integrate the latest state of the art wireless telecommunications systems with information processing systems for home and business users. o Under his leadership, ICI developed and operated the first Wireless Pay TV service in the former USSR, Ireland and Argentina. Great American Broadband, Inc. (GAB), (2008-2014) Chairman/CEO o GAB was a broadband wireless company focused on providing state of the art video, voice, and data services on a wireless platform serving rural America. (WCAI) (1988-1996) President/CO-Founder o Mr. Schmidt was recruited to launch and head a new industrys international association early in 1988. Represented WCAI before Foreign and U.S. Governments. Worth, Texas. CTM provided alternative distribution for video, voice, and data services. Mr. Schmidt had primary responsibility for the identification and negotiation of new venture opportunities. He served as a consultant for professional sports teams (Major League Baseball, NBA and NHL teams) designing/developing business plans for pay television regional sports networks and negotiated sports rights contracts with cable TV companies. National Cable Telecommunications Association (NCTA) (1975-1979) Presidento While President /CEO of the trade association of the cable television industry, which represented over 6,000 cable companies, Mr. Schmidt was responsible for a multi- million dollar budget and a 70-person staff. He introduced the first national legislation to benefit the cable television industry and made substantial inroads in reducing the FCC regulatory burden on the cable industry. Most notably, Mr. Schmidt was one of the key negotiators in the copyright fee agreement adopted between the Motion Picture Association (MPAA) and NCTA, which later was incorporated into federal law. During his four years at NCTA, the cable television industry became a major media competitor. Chapman and DiSalle (1974-1975) Attorneyo Served as counsel for International Telephone and Telegraph (ITT), the Washington World Football League Franchise, the National Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He also served as counsel for individual professional athletes from the football, soccer, tennis, and auto racing fields as well as serving on the Presidents Counsel for Physical Fitness. In 1980 and 1984- he was a recipient of the Presidents Award from the NCTA. Mr. Schmidt is also co- founder NABU Network, INC., a two-way home information service company delivered via cable- He served as a member of the US Delegation to the World Satellite Conference (ITU) in 1985 in Geneva, Switzerland.COMMUNITY SERVICE AND COLLATERAL EXPERIENCEFather Horace McKenna, SJ, founder of the charity So Others Might Eat (SOME), recruited Mr. Schmidt to be the first Chairman. As a member of the National Advisory Board of the Lombardi Center for Cancer Research, Georgetown University awarded Mr. Schmidt the 1981 John Carrol Medal of Merit for his dedication and service to the community. Mr. Schmidt is a former member of the Board of Regents of Georgetown University. He also has served on the following boards of directors: American Council of Young Political Leaders(ACYPL), Chairman of the Kenner-Hoffmann Boys and Girls Club Foundation, Chernobyl Childrens Foundation. Mr. Schmidt is Founder and Chairman of the Vincent T. Lombardi Foundation. Beginning in 19761, over $5 million has been raised for the Lombardi Cancer Research Center at Georgetown University. Mr. Schmidt served in the Air National Guard and as a Lieutenant in the US Navy Reserve. He served as an advanceman for Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. He is a Knight of Malta and St. Jerome.
