PHONE NUMBER AVAILABLEEMAIL AVAILABLEPROFESSIONAL SUMMARYAccomplished Systems Engineer with a 14-year record of success managing system implementation, validation, and deployment. Well-versed in hardware integration and design. Methodical and innovative team player dedicated to continuous improvement and performance optimization. EXPERIENCE06/2017 - 06/2024 Blue Origin Kent, WAFluids EngineerFluids Engineer with full system ownership in support of the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. New Glenns first stage is fully reusable and was designed from the beginning to be human-rated. In this position, I led the design, development, and testing of the 90% concentration Hydrogen Peroxide propellant storage and delivery system for the New Glenn AFT Module including component design or selection (i.e., main stage valves, pilot valves, storage tanks, pressure transducers, hoses, thermal insulation, etc). This system fed the auxiliary power unit that pressurized the hydraulic system in the AFT module. Ownership of this system included system architecture design, system requirements derivation stored in Doors Next Gen, component specification authoring and review stored in Doors Next Gen, fluid performance analysis using AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, and Sinda/Fluent within thermal desktop, structural analysis using Ansys workbench, P&ID creation using Autocat Plant 3D, System safety artifact creation. The detailed design of the system required delivering 2-D secondary structure drawings, 2-D tubing drawings, 3-D assembly drawings, and 3-D installation drawings following ASME Y14.5 GD&T practices. The drafting and 3D modeling products were created in Creo Parametric and stored in Windchill as the PLM software. This position also required working closely with other groups/teams to ensure all systems worked together correctly, components were designed for manufacturability and installability, and common components were designed and used where possible. Project management skills such as supplier selection, supplier management, schedule analysis, and budget tracking were essential to deliver the system to the vehicle for installation and acceptance testing.05/2012 - 06/2017 Collins Aerospace Chula Vista, CA Senior Mechanical Design EngineerMechanical Design Engineer working on engine build-up systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel, electrical, and fire detection between the engine core and the pylon connections. Primary design tasks include tubing design, sheet metal/cast/machined support bracket design, Interface control document coordination, and associated drawing release documentation using Teamcenter and ENOVIA. Other duties included supplier and customer interaction and support. Additionally, I functioned as the design focal for internal change board discussions with our customers. (CATIA, ENOVIA). (Company was formerly UTC Aerospace systems and Goodrich Aerostructures)05/2010 - 05/2012 Collins Aerospace Riverside, CAManufacturing EngineerManufacturing Engineer working primarily on the A5350 XWB composite fan cowl system and the composite Inner Fixed Structure (IFS) line for both the 787 Dreamliner and the A350XWB. Primary Manufacturing Engineering duties included review and approval of engineering drawings, writing tool orders for tooling fabrications, troubleshooting laser projection problems, developing routing/planning/travelers, CATIA analysis of laser tracking data and CMM data, and supporting continuous improvement events (lean manufacturing). Other duties included assisting with Soft Tool Design (Manufacturing Data Sets, Laser Projection System Files, and Gerber Cutting Edge Table Nests). (CATIA, Fibersim, Enovia).
