PHONE NUMBER AVAILABLEEMAIL AVAILABLEKENYON, DUANEOBJECTIVETo secure a position with a well-established organization with a stable environment that will lead to a lasting relationship in the field of HSE (Health Safety and Environmental) and maintenance. To become the safety and maintenance leader within the organization and an assist in reaching the goals of the organization. I enjoy working with people to solve problems and help everyone be more productive.SKILLS & ABILITIESHave 20 plus years of combined HSE / maintenance experience several different industries from chemical manufacturing, heavy metal manufacturing and foundry / machine shop industry. Have managed all elements of the facility in regards to HSE. Have experience with PSM (Process Safety Management), RMP (Risk Management Plan), IH (Industrial Hygiene). Have production, supervisory and middle management experience in the same industry. Have 18 months experience in heavy manufacturing at a hot forge facility. Strong electrical and mechanical background. Worked on farm equipment for many years while in high school.EXPERIENCEEH&S Manager Advance Bronze Inc.2022-PresentAdvance Bronze is a leading manufacturer of Non-Ferrous machined parts for a vast array of end uses. In this role I am responsible for three sites with one site being in Pennsylvania. All three sites have a foundry where the non-ferrous metal is melted in electric induction furnaces and poured into either a static mold or a centrifugal die.Between the three sites we employe around 175 employees. Each site is unique in the size and detail of the products being produced. The Seville site makes the smaller products but has the most detail, Lodi makes the middle size pieces with some complex parts, the PA plant makes the larger parts with some detailed products. While working at Advance Bronze I have been completing most of the foundry maintenance as the maintenance person left shortly after I started. Some of the projects I have completed to date are; replaced the security and fire monitoring system with state-of-the-art equipment, software, and apps. Installed a site wide camera system for added security. I saw a need for an automatic emergency power supply for the furnace circulating pumps, so I designed and installed the system. So now in the event of a power failure the 12 VDC pumps will automatically come on and if they do not, they can be manually started with the flip of a switch. Before this was installed the forklift operator would have to park the forklift close to the furnace and connect jumper cables from the lift to the pump. We have a process water tank and it would often overflow. So, I designed and installed an extra high level float interlock and this solved the problem. The pouring pits pumps would fail due to metal clogging them and the pipes severing due to the torque of the pumps. To offset this, I installed flexible couplings above each pump to absorb the vibration. I raised the pumps up off the floor so they would not pick up the metal and clog the pump. I installed a back up timer so if the water level did not pump down to a safe level the second pump would energize automatically. These projects reduced pump repair / replacement, downtime, and maintenance manpower. These project drastically increased uptime as well as reducing the environmental liability of contaminated water leaving the building.I complete repairs to the furnaces, cranes, hoist, building, plumbing, air compressors, lathes, milling machines, air furnaces & air conditioners, baghouse, etc.I supervise the machine shop maintenance person to assure the needed repairs and projects are completed. In conjunction with the maintenance activities, I manage all aspects of the EHS role at the Lodi facility and oversee EHS coordinators at the other two sites. All three sites work with leaded materials so I had to learn the OSHA lead standard and how to manage it and the employees affected by the standard. The Lodi site is also in the silica program so I manage and oversee the medical requirements for silica as well as lead.EH&S Manager Blair Rubber2019-2022Blair Rubber manufactured several different product lines from the one site. The main product being rolled rummer for tank linings in a vast array of applications. Thet also made solvent based roof coating and top of the line rubber roof membrane materials for industrial roofing applications.I worked hand in hand with maintenance to solve several issues with equipment, processes and especially the handling of the solvent-based products. We were having problems maintain temperature within the specified ranges on all the steam heated equipment. I discovered it was the way in which the condensate return piping was installed. I researched a couple different options to solve this problem. We then had condensate pump stations installed at the equipment and this solved the problem. I also improved the collection of dust and fumes in several different manufacturing cells.WE had to conduct mill drill and the goal was to complete an extraction of a stock person within two minutes. When I started their it took upwards of six minutes and the process was Sloopy. I made a rescue manacan that was life sized. We would use it during practices. This was a big hit as it was different and we had a lot of fun with it. Of course it was dressed in OSU clothing. When I left, we were consistently under the two-minute mark and had several rescues that were just over a minute.I managed to reduce the injury rate by 20% the second year I was there.I managed all aspects of the facilities EPA permits, reporting, and OSHA programs.Safety Coordinator Owens Corning2018-2019Owens corning Medina is a leader in manufacturing asphalt shingles and liquid asphalt for other roofing applications. While working at Owens Corning I worked with the operators and maintenance to design a guard for the brush roll on the production line. Prior to this they had tried many designs but was unsuccessful. I was able to come up with a solution that meet all the requirements of machine guarding and made the changeover process much easier and safer for the operators. This design was used at several of the other shingle sites.I updated the training material and the way the training was presented. I had a lot of compliments for the employees and manager in regards to the updated training and the way I presented the training. I delivered my training at a few other Owen Corning Sites in several states. I also trained other EHS Leaders on training techniques.Manager of EH&S, Zircoa2016-2018Zircoa is one of the world leaders in manufacturing engineered ceramics made of Zirconium. We took a byproduct from copper mining and transformed it into Zirconium oxide. This was then pressed into whatever shape the customer required. While at Zircoa I worked with the development team and production to safely manufacture products of size they never thought they could. I worked with the Ohio Bureau of Workers compensation and was awarded a safety grant that allowed Zircoa to purchase the necessary equipment to safely move these large pieces. I managed the project to update the public address weather alert and fire system.Zircoa had a complex water discharge permit as they use hydrofluoric and hydrochloric acid in large quantities, by the semi tanker loads. Managed their HAZWOPER program and conducted exercises which included the local emergency agencies. While working at Zircoa I became a Radiation Safety Officer as we worked with naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM). Managed the radiation program and conducted the required area radiation sampling. This involved collecting and analyzing 60 samples monthly and 90 or more samples quarterly.EH&S ENGINEER, MID-WEST FORGE CORPORATION2014 2016In my current position I have responsibility to manage the EH&S responsibilities for three sites with one site being out of state.
