Ceramic tile manufacturer in Guacara, Venezuela. The original owners went bankrupt and the Financial Group, named CAVENDES, took control of the manufacture. Before our management , the Plant was losing money, and sales were down because quality of tiles had been diminished. In 1990, the Financial Group trusted my partner and myself to achieve rentability for the Plant. We used total quality management processes to improve the production, durability, and the colors of the Ceramic tile. Prices and Sales improved. Also, production of facade wall tiles was introduced which sold at an exceptionally good price. We increased exports to the Florida market and received a government recognition as 1997 s Best Export Company . We achieved the Financial Group s goal, improved the rentability of the manufacture and they were able to sell it.
Civil Engineer Discipline Leader for Consorcio Venezolano Aleman (CVA) (1988-1990) New Oleophines Plant at El Tablazo, Venezuela. The project began first months of 1988 and the German partner, Linde, complained to CVA that the Civil Discipline had gone, in a few months, dangerously behind schedule. I had recently finished the successful enlargement of an electric cable manufacturing Plant. CVA learned of my success and decided to try me as leader of the Civil Discipline. When I entered the project, four months after it began, the Civil Discipline was already two months behind schedule. The Civil Discipline had to design and prepare the shop drawing, for the bases of all equipment, the Complex pre-cast Pipe Racks, the underground connections , and the structures of all the buildings. Also, had to design the drainage of the contaminated areas and the clean water areas. Most complex structure was the design of an elevated base for a huge compressor. The natural frequency of all elements, and combinations of some, had to be distant from the critical speed of the compressor, to avoid resonance. I organized and supervised the work of up to 80 Civil Engineers. Germany s Linde Company did the main engineering and built the Plant. Under my direction, the project speeded up and CVA s goal was achieved. The Civil Discipline finished the two-year plan, ahead of time. Linde s engineers named me best engineer of the project at a Board of Trustees meeting.Construction Engineer (1972-1988): Summary of the most important jobs After graduation, 1969, I began to work at an asphalt paving Construction Company (PEYCA), and later changed to a Government Dredging Company (INC).
