MakerFest 2017 was attended by 1,400 high school students from 30 schools, 100 exhibiting sponsor employers, and 5 colleges, with the MakerFest Job Fair attended by 450 adult job seekers, with significant recognition from elected officials, including the Ohio Secretary of State, senators, congressmen, local commissioners, and the mayor. With the goal to stop the brain drain from Cincinnati, conceived, initiated and founded with P&G and University of Cincinnati, and served for 8 years as executive director of the INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati, a regional non-profit collaboration of businesses and educators to stop the brain-drain of the areas best-and-brightest young IT talent from the region. Successfully engaged active participation and funding from P&G, Cintas, Chiquita, Toyota, Fifth Third Bank, Citigroup, Microsoft, Cincinnati Bell, more, plus UC, Miami, and Northern Kentucky University. Created award-winning programs, including the INTERalliance IT Careers Camp (deployed on 3 university campuses) and TechOlympics Expo, a nationally recognized 3-day career conference for high school students. Designed the curricula and lesson plans for Deer Park School District with Deer Park Career Academies, a multi-pathway career education program that offers high school students a 3-tier exposure to career pathways in Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Engineering Design, Sports Medicine. Created a 3-tier career academy for Three Rivers School District for Aviation Mechanics, in partnership with the Aviation Maintenance Department at Cincinnati State & Technical College.
