While working here, my Uncle Max and I made living quarters in his crawl space. We started by digging the dirt out first with a roto-hammer until we could properly fit a Dingo into the tight quarters and break the dirt up so we could move it to a designated area. We then made a concrete footing around the perimeter. While completing tothis step we found a well running underneath the house. To ensure water damage wasn't a future issue, we cleared space out behind our footing and made a retaining wall around the perimeter of the area and installed a drainage system to run the water outside. We then leveled the dirt floor using a plate compactor. After this we set gravel, compacted it using the same plate compactor, and covered it with rebar tied into a checkered pattern. He poured the concrete for the floor himself. While working here I learned how to clean the work site, how to mix mortar and concrete mix, pour footings, make and waterproof retaining walls, set pipes properly, and cut and set rebar. I also learned how to use jigsaws, saws alls, roto-hammers, impact drills, concrete mixers, and other miscellaneous tools.EDUCATION;Clover Park Technical College; February 2009 May 2009.
