We develop full field studies of public and private oil and gas prospects within the Gulf of Mexico region. I am the lead reservoir engineer in 5 separate fields in deep water Gulf of Mexico with greater than 90 MMBOE of remaining reserves. The development of these fields included but is not limited to:Using well log, seismic, core data, geo-mechanical data, and production data to develop reservoir models and deterministic ranges for rock property variables. Analyze core data to calculate permeability by using statistical methods. Evaluate high frequency, high resolution shut-in data through the use of Saphir (Pressure Transient Analysis software or PTA) to calculate permeability, reservoir limit, reservoir boundaries, rate dependent skin, changing wellbore storage, interference from other wells, gas material balance correction, well model changing in time, horizontal and vertical anisotropy.Calculate reservoir in place numbers by using the Volumetric Method. By using analog data in hundreds of reservoirs in a regional area, or PVT (Pressure Volume Temperature) data that was provided from the wells that penetrated the reservoir, I calculate in-place numbers for gas and oil reservoirs. I also developed a recovery factor excel sheet that uses fluid properties to calculate the reservoirs potential recovery factor.Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) is another method I use to utilize reservoirs production data to forecast an EUR (Estimated Ultimate Recovery) for hundreds of reservoirs in the Gulf of Mexico Region. The software I used was OFM, and it had the capabilities to use decline curve analysis for as small as individual wells in a reservoir, to a full field model with many wells to forecast a fields potential reserves.Develop and implement a probabilistic tool that allowed our section to have ranges for our in-place numbers and recoverable reserves for every field in the Gulf of Mexico. By using statistical analysis to calculated rock and fluid properties, a range for each parameter can be determined to calculate a P10, P50, and P90. Which then gave us a P10-P90 for OOIP, GIP, and recoverable oil and gas.Reservoir modeling and simulation was one of my main tasks given to me at BOEM. While working with BOEM I gained proficiency in software such as CMG, Eclipse, Petrel RE, Petroleum Experts: Reveal, and Merlin. I am the center point for ALL engineers in the development of our knowledge of these software. Using them to simulate open flow and full field modeling including water injection, gas injection and also carbon sequestration.Integrate field development and companys business plans into reserves updates using CIDs.Preform economic evaluations on many fields in the Gulf of Mexico, including 5 fields with 90+ MMBOE remaining reserves. Proficient in ARIES, which gives us a comprehensive evaluation of companys assets.I also use SQL and Access to produce queries for our data sets that have millions of data points. I am also a PowerBI user. I have created projects that include a regional distribution for similar aged sands in nearby fields. That project included rock properties to be able to build the most accurate reservoir models we can with the data we have. I have also built an activity model for each unit in our section to breakdown what has been done for supervisory purposes.Modeled and Simulated Worst Case Discharges of public and private prospects across 100+ reservoirs involving; (modeled and simulated over 100+ reservoirs):Use internal seismic data, analog data, field studies, and other in-house database information to verify worst case discharge (WCD) data submitted by an operator.Construction of Reservoir Models:oFirst step is is building the companys model using their numbers that are submitted in the Worst Case Discharges (WCD) submittal. Simulations on the model are run to produce a WCD number within a certain percentage of their number.oNext step to use our own analog data to build our reservoir model to simulate a blow out, and get our own WCD number.PVT/Core Data/PTAoPVT and Core data are used in many analog wells to accurately build our models.oPTA is used (when available) to determine a permeability for reservoirsNodal AnalysisoA wellbore schematic and directional survey is provided for each WCD. I built multiple models in each and3.Methane ProjectThe Atlantic Methane Reservoir was a project designed by our regional director to estimate a methane gas reservoir in the Atlantic area that may be fed by a Methane Hydrate. The goal of the project was to determine a (MCF/ac*ft) recovery factor for the reservoir. We took a probabilistic approach by having ranges for each parameter, and by making multiple merlin models. This was a months-long process that started with hand calculating in-place numbers (OOIP), to eventually building a reservoir model for almost every scenario.For these models we experimented with well spacing, well completion optimization, and flowback optimization to predict the best possible scenario to optimize production.4.Mentor Training ProgramIn 2017, I was selected as a team member to create a Mentor Training Program. Our team put together a training program for newly hired engineers to prepare them for engineering work in the Reserve section. I built a WCD problem that the newly hired engineers would have to resolve. They had to build a model in Merlin and Avalon. I trained a few newly hired engineers and they are currently still working for us.We also created mentor training videos. On this team, we built training videos for WCDs (building a model in CMG), NCIS, TIMs and anything else an engineer may cover while working for us. These videos were recorded and posted to the website.We then put on a week-long Mentor Training class.
