(Supplies are things like cleaning products, paper plates, utensils, toilet paper, laundry soap, etc.) Create weekly menus (3 meals + 1 snack daily for 20 guests) based on donations and leftovers and things that need to be used. Create a weekly food shopping list, go shopping, and purchase needed food, staying within budget. Sort food donations that come in, storing food properly, and adjusting the menu accordingly. Pick up weekly donations at Safeway in Beaverton (Murray/Allen) at 9:00 on Friday mornings and bring them to Tigard. Pick up donations from the Tualatin food pantry on occasion. Work with Shelly on all staff obtaining food handler cards. Enforce guest guidelines, including COVID-19 guidelines as set by the State and open door housing works Check in guests during designated check-in times. Supervise guests and respond quickly and appropriately to any potential issues or conflicts that may arise. Check in guests each day and secure/check bags. Facilitate timely transitions for guests. Responsible for setup, dinner, and additional shelter operation needs in the evenings with a focus on customer service and cleanliness. Prepare dinner for serving. Serve dinner restaurant-style to all guests. Sanitize and wipe down tables, chairs, and surface areas in the kitchen. Ensure a clean and sanitary environment throughout the entire shelter. Distribute linens for the beds (sheet, pillow/pillowcase, blanket). Perform additional tasks as assigned by our shelter coordinator. QualificationsThe physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Hand and finger dexterity adequate to operate standard office equipment Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, reach, stoop, pull, climb stairs, and squat Ability to perform CPR for fifteen minutes continuously Ability to lift 50 pounds The right individual for this position has a passion for helping others and a desire to work in an organization that serves people who are experiencing poverty and homelessness Associate degree or higher in a related field, OR 2 years of consistent work experience (in any field) AND demonstrated understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence and sexual assault Demonstrated ability to work independently Ability to appropriately assess a situation and take corrective action as necessary Knowledge of services available to low-income and homeless persons in Washington County through open door housing works and other agencies or the demonstrated ability to obtain such knowledge Demonstrated ability to provide crisis intervention and to follow procedure in crisis situations Written and verbal communication skills Good computer skills Ability to use web-based data collection program People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Reliably commute, drivers license and vehicle (Required) 2 years supervisory experienceOpen Door Housing works is an equal opportunity employer.
