It was a lumber and building materials wholesaler. It consisted of a headquarters operation in Fargo and two distributing yards serving the upper Midwest. We also ran 50+ trucks in inter and intra state commerce. Built the business from the ground up, and grew the Company to over 100 employees.After North Central Distributing Co my family and I moved to the Phoenix area and I became an independent lumber broker from 09/1983 to 05/2023. I then sold all over the country and most heavily into the Chicago area. Over several years I shipped 622 carloads of cut-to-size Industrial Particleboard into a public warehouse in Chicago. They unloaded and stored the material. I contracted with two local trucking companies to deliver a truckload at a time to my customers. I have experience in delivering containers, multi-modal and carloads to my customers. I have also shipped thousands of truckloads of different types of wood products including lumber, plywood, oriented strand board, medium density fiberboard, Industrial Particleboard, etc.Skills and educationOne skill which has helped me all these years has been the ability to make good decisions quickly. Management and problem solving skills are also important. In some situations financial negotiation skills may be helpful.
