JOB DESCRIPTION
. Check patient's medical history and records prior to giving any dental
service
. Prepare and arrange dental materials and equipments before the
procedure
. Prepare the patient before the treatment by putting protective gears
such as bib and eye shields and maintain patient comfort by adjusting
the dental chair to their convenience
. Take blood pressure and blood sugar level for hypertensive and
diabetic patients
. Maintain personal protection as it pertain to personnel safety;
Protective clothing, eyewear, gloves
. Maintain the instruments and working areas in strict accordance with
sterilization/disinfection
. Maintain dental equipments and operatories in good and clean condition
at all times
. Provide chairside assistance during clinical treatments as to root
canal, composite and amalgam fillings, extraction, scaling and
bleaching, laser treatments, surgery, preparations of crowns, bridges
and dentures.
. Prepare required laboratory procedures, ie.... Dental impressions
. Regularly check the expiration date of materials and instruments to be
used.
. Take digital x-rays observing proper protocols as to wearing apron.
. Properly discard used materials after each procedure on their
respective containers; sharps, infectious and non-infectious.
. Thoroughly clean and disinfect the working area after each patient
with appropriate cleaning material.
. Send instruments to the sterilization area after each used for proper
washing, disinfecting and sterilizing.
. Provide patient with medical prescription as ordered by the doctor.
. Provide health teachings on oral hygiene and plaque control programs,
proper diet and appropriate care for post dental treatment.
. Advise patient regarding follow up on dental treatments and make
appointment for the next visit.

Job Description:
. Administrative role as to taking patient's history and personal
information, assessment and giving immediate intervention based on

. Intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injections

-placing patient to cardiac monitor and respirator/ventilator
-insertion and removal of catheter
-maintenance and regulation of oxygen support and nebulization
-assisting in NGT insertion and endotracheal intubation
-monitoring blood sugar and administration of insulin
- NGT/OGT feeding, parenteral and PEG feeding
-administering blood components
-assisting physician with different minor procedures such as
suturing, debridment, thoracentesis, CTT Insertion, pleurodesis
and others
-wound care and dressing
-administering enema, providing colostomy and tracheostomy care,
suctioning secretions
-pharmacological management - actions, indications and
contraindications, route of administration and others
. Providing basic life support and CPR during emergency cases
. Health teachings on preparations for various laboratory procedures
such as x-ray, CBC and blood chemistry, sonography, lipid profile,
liver and cardiac enzymes, etc.
. Understanding of the patient's Bill of Rights and ethico-legal
concepts in giving patient care and treatment
. Knowledge on leadership and management skills in working as a health
care team
. Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
. Knowledge on different emergency drugs, its actions and
contraindications as well as route and correct amount to be
administered
. Collaborating and coordinating with other health care personnel to
attain maximal and effective care and treatment
. Giving post mortem care and allowing of patient to die with dignity
