Dept/Product SystemConverting /AFHTissuePositionCore Room Technician 5 & 11SupervisorJermaine VerdreeMajor Contributions:What results were achieved (Consider Mill Value Drivers/Product System Goals)How were these results achieved (MBM)I have a strong focus on safety and the utilization of the safety processes in the mill. I often have interventions with employees & contractors in and out of my department on what right looks like from a safety standpoint. I utilize the Trax system to capture these interventions & I rank these interventions according to the HIRA system to mitigate risks throughout the mill. So far, I have completed all my required CBT safety training for the year. After the transition to SAP and tablets on the floor, I took the time to help train a couple of my fellow core makers on how to properly use & submit a notification. I also trained these core makers on how to submit OBC & lube routes into the Digital Core System for core machine 5.I am very self-driven & my sense of urgency & work ethic are second to none. I take the initiative to learn my entire assets. I have a strong knowledge of my entire core room consisting of core machines 5 & 11.I have heard, from many of my customers, that they would rather have me as their core machine operator over any other operator because of the quality of cores they receive from me.I have 22 SBOs so far this year. Just a few examples of those are:oWhen I came in, the previous shift was 3 racks down. The core machine kept wrapping up, so it was slowed down to a speed of 210. I adjusted the air pressure & the overlap & disengaged the air on the slitters. I was able to run the machine @ a speed of 230 & filled all the racks back up.oRetail core rooms were behind & retail machines were about to run out of cores. My PC came & asked me to run a rack of cores for retail. I ran a rack of cores to help the retail core rooms catch up.oCame in after previous crew & the operator stated that the machine kept wrapping up, so he cut the speed down from 220 to 195. I also discovered that it was cutting long cores. I adjusted the photo eye & adjusted the air pressure. The I turned the machine back up to 220 & it is running fine.I am 100% when it comes to performing hourly quality checks and daily pre-flight inspections along with OBC routes & monthly lube routes into our new Digital Core System.I have gotten more of an in-depth knowledge & understanding of our video jet printers & our Digital Core System.I do communicate and document machine issues with the overlapping crew & do everything in my power to make sure the overlapping crew is set up good before I leave every day.I have been able to cross-train on the case packers for BigRoll & JRT1.I have been a mentor for core machines 5 & 11 for a year now. While being a Mentor I have trained 3 technicians on core machine 5 & got one of them signed off to operate it & trained 2 technicians on core machines 11..Strengths:What major strengths enabled you to perform well and create value?Which of the MBM Guiding Principles do you consistently demonstrate well?I have a good understanding of the customer supplier relationship from core maker to winder. I have displayed the ability to supply cores as needed to the AFH tissue & Retail product systems.I communicate with my support group well. When upset conditions, or areas of reliability concern, are identified, I work proactively to have the issues repaired. The MBM Guiding Principles I believe I demonstrate well would have to be Integrity, Principled Entrepreneurship, Customer Focus & Value Creation. However, I do strive to demonstrate all our MBM principles.I have 21 years of experience with Georgia Pacific SRM working in a manufacturing, production & quality role.I have 17 years of experience working with core machines 5 & 11.Improvement Areas:What could you do to improve your performance and contribution? What kept you from making a larger contribution? (MBM Guiding Principles, skills and knowledge, etc)Are there any major areas you need to develop to avoid future problems?I need to hold myself accountable for my own safety by self-triggering my work activities and performing them the safest way each & every time. This includes minimizing my rushing around the equipment when operating it.I still must improve on slowing down my work pace to be sure of my surroundings, so I will not make untimely decisions or put myself at risk. In other words, Think Before I Act.I need to work on my time management & better use my time in a productive & value created manner when assets are curtailed.Employee Name (print) Candidate's Name
