This insurer had multiple operations in 17 di"erent countries, and with many of these operations being born out of mergers and acquisitions they ended up with a vastly wide range of systems often duplicating functions in the same areas. I was part of a team that led a project documenting the Business and Technical Architecture for the entire operation and the results of this enabled the business to make strategic decisions driving the business to be more e!cient, reduce software and licensing costs and ultimately provide a better service to their clients by leveraging best of breed technologies and having a single source of truth for the customer. DevSecOps - Tool, Assessment and reportI led a project with one of South Africa's largest banks running an initiative that oversaw the design, build and implementation of a DevSecOps maturity assessment tool. This tool was designed to assess the DevSecOps maturity for all areas of the bank. The assessment results produced a rating out of 5 for each area of the bank and based on that score the tool would then propose specic remedial actions for each specic area. Microsoft APS migration to AWSI ran a strategically signicant project for a bank. With an aging legacy on-prem system coming to end of life we needed to migrate ETL and other functionality to a cloud based system. The project posed a number of challenges and provided me the opportunity to work in areas I was previous not familiar with. Change Management - Paperless and enhancementsI completed a complete overhaul of the change management process resulting in savings of over $350 00 per year. After documenting the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and the role that change management plays, I was able to identify many opportunities for improvement. The most signicant was that a paper based system that posed signicant audit and regulatory risk was able to be electronic without signicant cost, along with this the time taken to get approvals was dramatically reduced and improved by having regular email alerts and escalation processes built in to expedite approvals. I also found an opportunity to reduce the frequency and unnecessary attendees at Change Advisory Board(CAB) meetings further reducing the cost of these meetings by introducing a classication for change types this also reduced the overhead on Business and IT executive sta" in the process as well. Call Centre Optimization and New Landing PageLed a project that completely redesigned the collections call centre landing page. The objective was to reduce the number actions taken by a call centre agent to reduce time spend on unnecessary task and making the agent more e!cient in call handling and processing resulting in a 10% improvement in the collections call centre. By listening to calls and working with the agents I was able to understand their end to end collections process and their frustrations with the system. The solution was a landing page that could accommodate all the functions, barring one, that the agent would need without having to ever navigate away from the landing page. Working with teams in IT, sales, payments, credit and Business Intelligence I was able to eliminate many steps and system processes to improve the performance of the agents and the systems supporting them. Transactional BankingDesigned, documented and implemented new processes for an entirely new division, Transactional Banking. With the opportunity to build a Transactional Bank from the ground up I was able to design, review and collaborate on end-to-end processes from scratch allowing me to build processes that were simplied and tailored to suite the strategic objectives of the business. Insurance Process AutomationThe insurance division of the bank was experiencing poor turn around time on claims and communication with client due to many ine!ciencies and manual tasks. Using OCR technology and process automation to we were able to simplify and reduce the time it takes to submit an insurance claim. We eliminated all manual tasks and repetative data capture between systems to drastically reduce the time from claim submission to agent review of the claim as well as increasing the productivity of the claim review agents as now their focus was on revising the claim rather than capturing data into two di"erent systems and then reviewing the claim Internal Communication Email AutomationImplemented an internal email communication system with the use of a third party supplier. Facilitated the integration of data from the company's Active Directory to the mailing platform enabling the internal communications team to generate content, target specic audiences, get user interaction data back for insights and always have and up to data mailing list.
