Sometimes we would run out of stock on the floor and I had to locate where the product was in the scaffolding with a handheld computer scanner. Sometimes I had to search without a scanner, walking through the aisle looking up for the right item number. I had to call for a forklift driver whenever something needed to be dropped. I would usually work in other sections of the store, including grocery (which was the same as hardlines but bigger and messier), and freezer cooler which was a little harder because the product sold quickly and always needed to be restocked . I also had to clean up messes in the cold. My job mostly consisted of keeping the product in the isles neat and putting the extra boxes in a box bin I pulled with a pallet jack. Sometimes I count the sales floor inventory with a scan gun . Every other night I use the scan gun to see what needs to go to the sales floor. Then I locate the product on the back stock shelf . I put everything on a cart to put out on the sales floor at the end of the day. I also scan extra inventory from our truck delivery into the back stock and pick a spot for them to go on the back stock shelf.
