Coordinate with donors and partners, both existing and potential, who are associated with different projects.2Some of the major projects worked/working:Expanding Contraceptive Choice: Learning Initiative to inform the roll-out and scale-up of DMPA-SC and Hormonal Implants (2023-2026): The Government of India has introduced and scale two new contraceptive methods, namely Depot Medroxy Progesterone Acetate  Subcutaneous (DMPA-SC) and Hormonal Implant(HI) in a phased manner. In collaboration with Purple Audacity Research & Innovation Pvt. Ltd., ICRW employs an embedded learning approach to drive effective implementation of expanded contraceptive choices. By gathering evidence on processes, strategies, and approaches, the project aims to facilitate the introduction and support the uptake of new contraceptives. Ultimately, the goal is to inform nationwide scale-up efforts in this critical area of reproductive health. It is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The areas of focus are the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in India.Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) of Family Planning (FP): Funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The areas of focus are in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in Indiao Phase 2 (2020-2023): Aims to synthesize existing evidence on role of key influencers (KIs), particularly men and FLWs (ASHA/ANM/AWW), in breaking or reinforcing barriers to demand for FP and intent to use among Young and Low Parity Women and Couples (YLPWC); Explore pathways and strengths of KIs influence in different context, their barriers, motivators and vulnerabilities and identify platforms and opportunities to engage KIs to address barriers to demand and use FP.o Phase 1 (2016-2020): Aimed to track and examine the value of FP investment on process and outcome level changes. ICRW, provided support to technical support units (TSUs) in conducting public sector evaluations, conducted private sector evaluations, assessed the public-private partnership models and carried out an economic evaluation of some of the models, synthesize data from varied sources, generated and maximized data used to inform evidence-based decision making.Couple Engage  Doubling the Impact of Family Planning (2018-2020)- The project seeks to identify, develop and test approaches for engaging men and couples in joint spousal decision-making in family planning, particularly birth spacing. The project focuses on young married couples with 0 to 1 parity and men aged 18-25 years. The project approach is informed by evidence and an iterative and collaborative reflective process using human-centered design. The project is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The areas of focus are in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in IndiaGendered Health Pathways (formerly named Sex Gender and COVID-19) (2020- 2023)  A collaborative effort by the African Population Health Research Center(APHRC), Global Health 5050 (GH5050) and the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) to build the worlds largest database of sex-disaggregated data on key indicators of the clinical pathway and reviewed the sex and gender integration in national health policies across the globe. Data and the policy review provide a rich source of evidence on the equity and effectiveness of the national 3governments pandemic responses and provide open-access data for policymakers, researchers and advocates across the globe to utilize in pushing for more equitable, gender-responsive pandemic recoveries. In addition, the project also aims to review other health policies and conduct interviews with policymakers and advocates to understand what works or can push for gender integration in health policies.UMANG - Empowering Girls and Ending Child Marriage (2018-2024) - The UMANG program aims to comprehensively address and reduce child marriages in some of the high prevalent districts in the state of Jharkhand over a period of four years. Couple Power in two districts of Jharkhand, India (2016-2019) - The project sought to ensure that couples (where women are 15-24 years) are empowered and have skills to promote equitable decision making leading to increased intention to use appropriate family planning (FP) methods for better maternal health outcomes. It was implemented in the Gumla and Khunti districts of Jharkhand in India. This project was funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.Promoting Adolescents Engagement, Knowledge and Health (PAnKH) in Dholpur district, Rajasthan, India (2014-2018) It was an integrated intervention program to promote safe spaces for adolescent girls (12-19 years) through enhanced community participation. The objectives of the project were to delay marriage and promote higher education among girls, support and enable girls to make informed and responsible decisions regarding their reproductive health outcomes, and end violence against women and girls. This project was funded by MacArthur Foundation, Child Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) and International Inspiration (IN).Masculinity, Intimate Partner Violence and Son Preference in India (2013  2014) This research was conducted in partnership with UNFPA India in 2013-14 covering seven states (Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra) which are known for their skewed sex ratio and son preference. The study findings underscored that in India, masculinity, that is, mens controlling behavior, and gender inequitable attitudes govern mens preference for sons over daughters and violence towards their partners. Their economic status, levels of education, and experiences of childhood discrimination were the key determinants in shaping the construct of masculinity in men. The study findings recommended that to eliminate son preference and intimate partner violence in India, it is necessary to involve men in promoting gender equity and reduce socio-cultural and religious practices which promote gender discrimination. The study received immense media attention and coverage in India as this was the first study conducted in the country in which data were collected from men on issues of violence, preference for son and relationship.Planning Ahead for Girls Employment and Employability (PAGE) (2014-2016)- It was a pilot project that aimed to build life skills and employability skills in 4government school settings in Delhi. Evaluating the impact of the initiative was critical to assess its need, sustainability and scalability.
