Please consider my application for the position of staff nurse with your institution. I have had the pleasure of beginning my nursing career at Lenox Hill Hospital prior to Covid. Through my short, but intense experience as a Medical- Surgical nurse, I was provided with a variety of practices such as patient care, family interconnections, staff development and other important skills of becoming a successful team member. Though, short I was able to experience challenges and losses as a new nurse during this time.
For almost 3 years, I have worked as an ambulatory nurse in the Main Line Health system in the Primary Care setting. As a Primary care nurse, my responsibilities included triaging patient calls, medication refills, reviewing lab results, placing orders, and completed diagnostic visits, which included immunizations, urine samples, and stitch or staple removal.
My role as a nurse allowed me to use my skills to delegate to medical assistants and patient care representatives, provide feedback and answer questions about patient care.
As a nurse, I was also responsible for monitoring the administration of vaccines by others through a two-step process.
