This cover letter serves the purpose of updating and enhancing my resume.
My resume was created almost three years ago, and it is still accurate when writing this letter. I
retired from my Auditor position with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of
Inspector General, in January of Street Address . At that time, I started working for Intuit, Turbo Tax. I also
prepare taxes for my own tax business too. The tax business I own has been in operation for Street Address
years now. I am in my 4th season with TurboTax.
This letter is being used for my application for the Tax Expert Lead SelectTime position.
So, what did I do before 2008, when I started my Auditor job? I worked 40 plus years, full and part-
time, for a family-owned company. I did Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales Tax returns,
and other General Office work. This company used QuickBooks online. In 2021, I left this company
to work for TurboTax. I also was a Food Distribution worker for Dominick s/Safeway. I did this job for
26 years and retired in 2008. I have a varied background of professional and warehouse work
experience.
Since I started with Intuit, I have done Full-Service tax returns. I have seen the Full-Service process
evolve into a very pleasant and efficient tax preparation model. This year Full-Service is, from a tax
preparation standpoint, a wonderful way to help our clients. I look forward to further improvements
for Full-Service.
The Lead position is right up my alley. When I was an Auditor, much research was needed for each
audit I was assigned to. For tax preparation, many times I needed to research the tax client s
situation to best prepare the return.
I look forward to further opportunities for growth with Intuit, and the Lead position is one way to
accomplish this growth.
