Before I could dip my feet into the construction and design world. I received my cosmetology license in 1985 to help with collage bills. While still working as a hair stylist I went back to Texas Tech and finished their 3-year paramedic program. Where I worked for Lubbock EMS and volunteered for the county EMS from 1990 to 1999. Easing in to then my favorite and loved career of Interior design and residential construction 1998 to Present.Being self- employed most of my life requires me to be completely self-motivated. It is a very rewarding career.The construction business is very diversified in my field as an Interior designer andBuilder. My Job involves a variety of types of people and personalities. I conform to all of these.My day involves, the home- owner, the banks, suppliers, and subcontractors. A daily focus on client s budget and needs.Listening skill are most important. Helping them from the location of the home. to finishing it in a timely manner.Making sure they stay on their budget. and that their selections for the home flow and work in their home for them.I am a visionary. It requires this to full fill this kind of career. It can require hours, sometimes stressful, and yet emotional Job.But not to mention rewarding to see the clients dream come alive. |
