CAREER HIGHLIGHTS Production/R&D Lab DC Consolidations: Member of a tiger team assigned to build out Production DC in Phoenix, AZ ViaWest COLO facility. The build out included building the UNIX/Linux production infrastructure from the ground up, racking, installing, and configuring new servers. Also contributed with consolidations in Austin, TX; Lexington, MA; San Jose, CA and Houston, TX. RHEL7 to RHEL8 Migrations: Project Lead. Successfully built over 1,000 RHEL8 servers to replace EOS RHEL7 servers. This project included mentoring fellow Linux SAs, coordination and planning with App teams and tracking with PM status to reach a strict deadline. Keberos/AD Implementation: Project Lead that successfully implemented Kerberos/AD authentication for RHEL environment. This project remediated NIS passwd map hash vulnerability and better secured the BMC infrastructure. Corporate Sudoers Implementation: Project Lead. Successfully implemented elevated privileges controls for Web, DBA, Application Infrastructure, and other teams at BMC. This saved BMC 150k annually on Powerbroker licensing costs. Maintained the SOX quarterly report for E&Y audit reviews. ZABBIX Monitoring: Stood up Zabbix Servers in lab environment that into the production environment.
Built the servers out on RHEL8 VMs and setup the MySQL DB. This open-source monitoring solution allowed for more robust and accurate incident management.
