In Oklahoma, I worked in my mother-in-law's restaurant as a cook/waitress/cashier in the summer of 1987 before getting married in 1988 at which time I began my career in healthcare. I worked at a casino after I moved back to Iowa in 1999. I learned a lot of people and money skills while working there. But I couldn't stay, as my passion at that time, was in healthcare. I have stayed, faithfully, in healthcare for the past 20+ years. I will have 37 years of experience in healthcare as of August of 2024. I have also done scheduling and some office work.In September of 2019, I entered into college, at Marshalltown Community College, where I earned all but 8 credits for my AA in Liberal Arts degree and in May of 2022, I graduated with my Medical Office Practitioner degree. I plan to continue to finish my last remaining credits for my AA degree within the next year, which I can do online. I also earned my certification in Microsoft Excel in December of 2021. In the spring/summer of 2022, I took the EMT class at MCC in Marshalltown. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency towards the end of class, so I was unable to complete the ambulance rides and emergency room visits, but I did complete all classroom work and exams with an A for a grade.
