In 2020 TriBuild Inc sold the application to McCormick Estimating Software at which point I became an independent contractor supporting the application. McCormick was acquired by Foundation Software in 2021.As the system architect, I created the technical design of an online project management application designed for use by construction subcontractors for managing their project documentation, communication,budgets and files. The application was built using the CFWheels ColdFusion based MVC Framework with SQL Server on the back end and Bootstrap and JQuery for the front end.Worked closely with the product manager to create the design of the application to be user friendly and usable on both desktop and mobile browsers. Part of the requirement was for client companies to have multi-tiered organizational setups allowing for multiple regions, offices and projects per company.Developed a user role and permission system that allows for areas of the application to have access roles based on these company tiers with some roles flowing down to sub tiers.Developed a REST API to allow the transfer of estimating and project data from the McCormick desktop estimating application into the TriBuild application.Created a consumer of the third party Bluebeam Studio REST API used by clients for real time field-to-office drawing management and coordination.May 6, 2021 McCormick systems was acquired by Foundation Software of Strongsville OH. (September 2012  June 2014)Developer for a variety of clients sites from small brochure style sites to large custom built enterprise applications. Worked closely with clients from proposal phase through the release of their web projects to determine functional requirements, desired layout navigation and color scheme.Developed customized Drupal sites for APA Colorado and the University Club of Denver that met their requirements of custom areas for members as well as public areas. Developed custom theme elements to meet requirements.Worked on the conversion of a large ColdFusion/SQL Server based medical inventory and ordering system from a single customer per application instance to multiple customers per instance.Took on rescued Drupal sites for clients who were having difficulty working with their current hosting provider or developer. The data and display layer were split to allow different content types to be combined with a variety of display components for reusability.Extended and maintained the site's publishing tool in support of over 80,000 writers.Added efficiencies to the ColdFusion and SQL Server code to help handle heavy traffic as viewership of the site grew.Examiner.com (continued)Release manager for the Examiner site, working with my fellow developers and QA to progress the code from development to staging to final release weekly.Created a unique JQuery based autosave feature to prevent writers from losing content.Designed and created a versatile scheduling tool that allowed the Examiner content team to schedule specific articles or query selected content for promotion on the sites home page for 270 localized editions. The content team was able to specify which editions the content appeared on as well as set backup content and overrides that spanned editions. Content could be scheduled to repeat at intervals or run once and expire. This system allowed the content team to maintain fresh content on the home page without constant manual intervention.Developed a ColdFusion interface to Gettys image search API to allow the writers to find relevant photos for their articles.Developed a dashboard to the payment system that allowed writers to see their page views and earnings in the publishing tool.Maintained and updated the ColdFusion based Examiner.com site during a 2010 transition to a Drupal platform. After the transition, continued to maintain and update the ColdFusion based payment application.Created a web service to allow the Drupal based Examiner site to continue to send out subscription emails using the original Coldfusion based mail system until the Drupal based subscription code was completed.Created an API to allow the Drupal site's dashboard to display earnings data from the ColdFusion based payment system.Updated and rewrote the ColdFusion based payment system to handle revised Omniture data reports. The program accomplished this by first transferring the report files produced by a mainframe SAS program into the Windows environment and then translating these files into Microsoft Word documents. The transfer of the reports and related files from the VM/CMS mainframe environment was accomplished by using OLE objects to interface with the Attachmate Extra! Terminal emulation program. The application then interpreted the mainframe printer format codes in the file to produce a Microsoft Word document which was identical in appearance to the files printed on the mainframe printer. The program also automates the production of two bar charts and two pie charts that were previously produced using Harvard Graphics and later hand-collated into the mainframe report. The application has improved the speed and reduced the labor required to produce these quarterly reports.Modified SAS, PL/I and REXX programs in a VM/CMS environment to generate statistical analysis of data from consumer mail panel surveys. This included working closely with the product analyst to adjust to changes in the format or number of questions in the survey from quarter to quarter or adding new statistical reports to the program.Engineer - FERA Corporation (September 1990  May 1997)Served as an engineer for FERA Corporation involved in various technical projects in the natural gas pipeline industry.
