Before my shift starts I have a changeover meeting with the plant manager, production manager, and production supervisor. We discuss what problems we had the previous day and current. I put a plan in place solve those problems moving forward. I am given a hot list for priority parts that must be painted and shipped immediately. Then I have a shift meeting with my people I thank them for doing a great job. I tell them about any production plans we have and policy changes. I also asked them if they have any questions for me. Communication is the key. I have a lead in the masking, quality, loading, unloading, shipping, and painting. They meet with the leads on first shift to discuss any problems they may have had and what is the production plan for today. First I talk to the loaders and and show them how the parts are supposed to be hung so they can be painted correctly. Then I talk to the Maskers and show them what parts need to be covered that cannot be painted. I speak to the painters about upcoming Parts how they need to be painted and color changeovers. I talk to my quality technicians to tell them what paint defects to look for on the parts. Then I communicate with the unloaders and the material handlers to identify parts that need to be reworked.
