the minimum chilling time that produces the greatest impact of
treatment and whether the duration of response reflects efficacy
over no cooling.
INFORM : Investigates how health information is being distributed on
social media and how it affects patients willingness to receive
healthcare.
LEAP - Linking Emergency Department Patients to Assistance
Programs : Enrolls low-income patients in public health benefits, in
collaboration with BenePhilly, to improve health outcomes and
reduce emergency room patient volume.
NUDGE/PCOURI OUD - Patient-Centered Outcomes Research
Institute : Targets patients in three US healthcare systems serving
diverse, low-income, opioid use disorder (OUD) populations to
promote involvement in recovery therapy through the use of
telemedicine.
OSCAR - Organ Specific Blood Sample Collection for Advancing
Research in Mechanisms of Human Disease : Investigates the biologic
processes, the interaction between the heart and extracardiac
organs, and their involvement in human disease, with a focus on
cardiovascular disease. Examines organ-specific biomarker profiles
(proteins and metabolites) in patients undergoing clinically justified
cardiac catheterization or electrophysiological tests.

D-GAP - ED Geriatric Abdominal Pain Cohort: Measures

management and outcomes for 65+ y.o, patients admitted to the ED
with abdominal pain, and finding the correlation between essential
factors of aging. Natural history is first assessed during triage, testing,
treatment, and deciding between admitting or discharging the
patient. The link from care to outcomes is then assessed based on
patients' care of plan and prognosis, focusing especially on frail,
cognitively impaired, and multimorbid patients.
DOTS - Drug Overdose Toxico-Surveillance: Tightening the gap
between social determinants and rates of fatal overdose compared
to nonfatal overdose through clinical blood analysis (obtained from
pt. upon arrival to the ED for an OD) and patient interviewing focused
on drug use, quantity of drug use, social history, etc. Data is set to be
entered into a sub-registry among multiple collection sites.

My work plan was aimed toward creating a well-organized, academic health
resource guide for both the Amphitheater School District and the Marana
Unified School District, also set to be used throughout all of Pima County.
I nterviewed and collaborated with community members in Amphitheater and
Marana districts, researched school-based wellness programs, located low
cost and free resources available to the public, connected with each of the
community partners or advisors for hundreds of programs or resources that
would be used in the guide, curated PDF s or flyers for each of the resources
or programs, merged all the resources into one binder that would then be
shared with the public, and generated a website filled with each of the
resources for the Amphitheater School District to have on their school site.

which consisted of 5 pre existing goals, mainly focusing on the
relationship between Tucson Community Land Trust (TCLT) and
Favor Celestial; ensuring no harm to neighbors through research
by TCLT, establish consequences for inappropriate member or
resident behavior, demonstrate the rights residents hold, etc.
Introduce new bylaws with the purpose of receiving more funding
and tax exemptions. These bylaws were written in accordance
with the IRS under section 501(c)(3).
o Garden and Health : Reconstruct the garden for the residents of
Barrio, incorporate more greens into the community, and initiate
new educational and accessible programs through the gardens.
This involved planting trees, herbs, flowers, etc., creating a
greenhouse, and implementing nutritional education programs.
o Barrio History/Elder Stories/Newsletter : Collecting (via video) and
distributing (via online access) cultural and historical stories from
the elders of the community.

Service MCI Drill entailed a fake SEPTA train derailment in Philadelphia, ensuring how the
casualty would be handled and how effectively that would be done. The
participants included any HUP staff that was available to participate, the local fire
department, local EMS, and the local police department.
My specific responsibility during the MCI Drill was to measure
decontamination times (how long it took residents and physicians to
decontaminate patients from the derailment) using a stopwatch and
recording findings to determine average decon rates.
Taking part in a full scale exercise with Hospital Emergency Response
Team (HERT) deployment and department blueprint modeling for patient
movement and management.

Tucson and the Pima County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to
improve sustainable practices in shelter buildings and operations. SHG was created
to maximize return on investment in shelter upgrades by combining financing
options, green building methods, and agency capacity building.
Tasks included designing a survey to assess shelter s priorities for capacity
building based on metrics and return on investment, sustainability, facility
management, policy strategies, membership structure, etc.
Administering the survey to the Sister Jos Women s Center to be taken by
both residents and employees of the facility. The strategy and survey were
adopted into the City/County Consolidated Plan.
