PHONE NUMBER AVAILABLE ; PHONE NUMBER AVAILABLEEMAIL AVAILABLESummaryI had been employed in Nursing since 1982, first as an LPN, later as an RN. I have worked many years in hospital setting, most recently as an ONC qualified Chemotherapy Nurse; but also in Med-Surg. I also have extensive home care experience, having worked over 14 years in Home Care, mostly Pediatric. I have also had limited experience in a Dermatology office, as well as a Free-standing Oncology Office. I have a broad base of experience, and feel I am a fast-learner. I retired from nursing in 2019 and no longer have an active license as a nurse, but I continue to enjoy working with people. I have recently taken a temporary position as Front Desk Clerk at a Senior Citizen Apartment building.EducationKing Philip Regional High SchoolCollege PrepWrentham, MassachusettsGraduated June 1973While in High School I was part of the Drama Department, and a member of the Student Council. After High School I attended an LPN training program out of Pondville State Hospital, but circumstances forced me to put my dream of being a nurse on hold for a while.Henry O. PeobodyVocational School, LPN trainingNorwood, MassachusettsGraduated August 1982After receiving training to become an LPN, I was hired quickly at Norwood Hospital and worked 2nd shift on a med-surg unit. In those days we did a lot of pre-op assessment in-patient, so we had our patients pre-op to discharge. I was employed there from August of 1982 until May of 1987. I left on Maternity leave, and while off had a serious accident that prevented me from returning to work for over a year.Community College Of RIAssociate Degree in NursingLincoln, Rhode IslandGraduated June 1992During my time at CCRI, I completed an Honors Assisgnment on Prions, the micro-organism that is responsible for Crutzfield-Jacob (AKA Mad Cow Disease). I was searching for a correlation between that and Alzheimer's. I also transferred from Med-surg Nursing at LMC to Rehab, which at the time was at the Fogarty Unit of LMC.Employment HistoryLakeland Presbyterian Apartments530 South Florida AveLakeland, FloridaOctober 2023-presentFront Desk Clerk, fill-in positionI fill-in as needed for the other 2 front desk clerks, answering telephones, sorting USPS package deliveries, sending out applications for residency, sending maintenance work orders, locking down building at end of shift etc. My current schedule is coming to an end, and I am seeking new employment to supplement my income.,Bayberry CommonsRN, Unit ManagerBurrillville, Rhode IslandNovember 2012 2019I arrived at Bayberry after a very disheartening experience with an Out-Patient Oncology provider. I received only 1 day orientation in a totally different senerio than I had previously worked, and after a month was told "you don't fit our needs." I happened onto BBC through my nail technician, who also happens to do our business office manager, Deb Keene's nails. It took some getting used to, coming from Acute Care to Long Term Care, but after a rocky start, I feel I have become an asset to your organization. I initially started as evening nurse, advanced to day shift, and have been doing the job as Unit Manager for quiet some time, but only after I pursued the actual title, I was given it. I retired from this position with mutual agreement from management.Landmark Medical Center: Nadeem Ahmed MDRN, ONC qualified Oncology NurseWoonsocket, Rhode IslandJuly 2012 August 2012I actually applied for this position twice, and happened upon an opening when I accompanied a friend to her first chemo appointment. I was re-interviewed and was hired, but not given adequate training and was let go after 1 month being told "I didn't fit their needs."St. Joseph Health ServicesRN, ONC qualifed Oncology NurseNovember 2007 July 2012I initially started in the Rehab Unit in South Providence, but they moved our department to North Providence, and offered the remaining staff different positions. I went from a 24 hr 3rd shift position to a 32 hr 1st shift position in Med Surg, during which time I underwent training and qualified for the ONC Oncology Certification. I worked 3 days in the outpatient oncology department, 1 day on the floor until they moved the Oncolgy department to RWMC. They also closed the Unit I had been employed on, and I became a float 3-12 hour shifts a week.Ocean State Nursing ServicesRNCumberland, Rhode IslandOctober 1994 November 2007I was employed at this nursing agency and eceived training as a Pediatric Home Care Nurse. I dealt with infants to teenagers who were medically challanged. I worked with G-tubes, trachs, PICC lines, Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs. I rode buses delivering some of these children to school and eventuallt attended classes with a young lady from pre-school thru grade 7. She is thriving, and her family and I are still close.Landmark Medical CenterLPN-RNDecember 1988 August 1994After I moved to RI and had 2 more children, I attended a Job Fair at LMC. I was offered a position as a flot nurse on 3rd shift. I was still an LPN at the time, but because of my experience as a Med-Surg Nurse, I was started at a wage that was at the top of their pay scale. I felt that my scope of nursing was more limited in RI than it had been in MA, and I would not be able to advance in my career if I stayed an LPN. So I pursued my Associates Degree while working nights. When I was almost through, I sought a position in Rehab, because that is where I wanted to focus my nursing field.Norwood HospitalLPNNorwood, MassachusettsAugust 1982 May 1986Hired right after graduation, I worked 2nd shift on a mostly surgical unit. We did pre-op assessments thru discharge. During my time there I was a member of the Code Team, and trained in Hospice Care.Hobbies & InterestsI am a member of BPOE #850. I served as an officer for 2 years, but due to scheduling conflicts and an ill significant other, I did not continue in the chairs. I served on the Auditing Committee and Kitchen Committeefor my Lodge. I have a stronge affiliation to Breast Cancer Awareness, and support Breast Cancer awareness every October. I also honor our servicemen by wearing a red shirt every Friday as a member of RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) Shirt Friday. I am an advocate for Palliative/Hospice care, and worked very closely with our Hospice Teams in the building.References Kay Stone Haley AlumPHONE NUMBER AVAILABLE 352-222-016 Elaine Bennett Amy Dubose PHONE NUMBER AVAILABLE PHONE NUMBER AVAILABLE/pre> |
