SKILLSCashierForklift OperatorClass C Gas Station AttendantServing/Restaurant HospitalityMerchandisingEXPERIENCECostco Wholesale, 1901 W 22nd St, Oakbrook, IL Front End Assistant, Stocker, Forklift OperatorMarch 2019 - PRESENT As a Front End Assistant I had constant interaction with customers and staff alike. You are meant to assist a cashier and see to it that their line is moving as efficiently as possible. This position came with a lot of flexibility and I found many opportunities to cross train with other departments such as; meat, deli, gas station, and major sales(electronics& appliances). As a stocker you are tasked with maintaining and cleaning the stores various sections while the store is open. You would do so by keeping products level and free of trash as well as minor detailing such as straightening pallets and fixing signs. After closing, stockers are overseen by forklift drivers as they restock products that have been sold throughout the day. Forklift operating was my most recent position at Costco. As a driver you maintain and organize the stores dock area. My store was known for receiving a very heavy flow of freight and as a driver it is your job to make sure all freight makes it off the trucks and either into the steel or onto the floor without issue. After closing, drivers oversee stockers and make sure that they are receiving the proper pallets to stock. With there being limited time after closing it is imperative that the right product make it out to be fully restocked and drivers are the ones making that decision.Brio Tuscan Grille, 330 Yorktown Shopping Center, Lombard, IL Busboy, Host, Food Runner, Dishwasher, ServerMay 2016 - February 2019 Brio was my first job and it taught me a lot of valuable skills regarding customer service. I learned a variety of ways to communicate with various guests that dined in with us. This job was very fast paced and oftentimes while serving I would have up to 8 tables of varying party sizes. All of my positions in the front of the house required me to prepare and or close a certain station at the restaurant. This allowed me to learn the value of good preparation as well as making sure to maintain my workspace throughout the day. I spent some time working in the back of the house on top of my time up front. This time was spent learning ways to efficiently work on tasks independently and without much teamwork. I felt the juxtaposition of both front and back allowed me to become skilled at both teamwork and individual work.Lou Malnatis, 805 S State St, Chicago, IL Busboy September 2017 - December 2017 I had this job alongside Brio and was working 7 days a week at the time. A lot of the same skills learned at Brio applied to this job. The most valuable lesson I learned working here was to keep myself accountable for the things I can control. I was an opener and the closing crew before me consistently left additional work for me to complete before starting my own opening work. This would ultimately set me back, but I realized that the work needed to get done one way or another and only a bad attitude would stop that from happening. EDUCATIONGreater Lawndale High School for Social Justice High School DiplomaAugust 2013 - June 2017, 3120 S Kostner Ave, Chicago, IL I worked diligently throughout high school to graduate in the top 10 of my class while playing sports and working through summer breaks. |
