Prescribe medications and titrate the appropriate dosage of medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions and performance of therapeutic and corrective measures. Screen patients for common psychiatric, substance use, and/or medical co-morbidities and evaluate co-existing conditions and the implications on the patients care/needs. Adheres to program expectations and requirements surrounding productivity, documentation timelines and standards, and overall quality of patient care. Works within an integrated treatment model coordinating treatment with both internal and external providers as indicated. Document patients mental health status, treatment, condition, diagnosis etc. using electronic medical record software such as Epic and Medent. Clinical assessment and critical reasoning skills to elicit and interpret information from patients and other sources to evaluate information and draw conclusions for a plan of care. Complete comprehensive mental health assessments through observation, engagement, examination, interview and consultation.Other Nursing Knowledge and Experiences Coordinated care with other members of the health care team (such as primary care, psychiatry, social work and psychology) to provide general and psychiatric nursing care to patients in a correctional facility.
