EMAIL AVAILABLEPHONE NUMBER AVAILABLEIm ready for a change. I would like to work for a company that appreciates a good work ethic, and willing to show that appreciation by paying a fair wage. Authorized to work in the US for any employerWork ExperienceProduction SupervisorContract Packaging Covington - Covington, GAOctober 2017 to PresentThat start date was with Pro temps which is now JMA employment agency. I started working on the production line stacking 50lb. Bags of Top Choice insecticide in the same department Im supervising now. Im in charge of the batching process as well as the fill line and finished pallets. I finally agreed to Supervise after two others before me tried and failed. At first I was told an hourly rate that turned out to be two dollars an hour less than I had at first agreed but was told that I would be on a six month trial first. That was well over a year and a half ago. Also Im still doing the batching job that I was doing before because they are unwilling to offer enough pay to attract someone who is capable of learning the job. Normally I have 6-9 workers. Most of these people are working through employment agencies. This is one of the most difficult aspects of my job. We rarely get people who have good work ethics. It seems like a good number of these people are disgruntled when they first arrive. This creates a stressful environment and seems to spread to others who had been working well. I think my biggest accomplishment is learning how to be a good leader. Taking time to think about what to do about a situation rather than acting to hastily. Also coming to the realization that I cant allow one bad apple to negatively influence the whole crew. Thank you, JK SimsChemical Process OperatorContract Packaging - Covington, GAOctober 2017 to June 2022Process chemical batches according to batch ticket using forklift scales and pumps. Load a 10,000 lb. capacity blender with approximately 8,000 lbs. of granules with forklift. Spray granules with liquid batch according to per pound ratio given by lab. After lab approval send over through granule elevator to fill line. Also must unload liquid chemical tanker trucks when they arrive. Dust collector must be emptied out as needed and filters changed when they become too heavy with dust. Theres so many other things that a person must know to do this job. I would easily categorize it as technical. Jumbo flexo crew leaderRockTenn Covington - Covington, GASeptember 2013 to March 2015I was hired back here after getting laid off when I was really young and it was Meadcontainer. I went back in 1990 and stayed until 1997. By then it was Smurfit Stone. I was hired back to crewlead an old SS jumbo flexo on 3rd. shift which I did with a lot of animosity towards me from certain people that didnt like the fact that they had hired me back as a crew leader. Nevertheless I did well but they eventually took out my flexo and 2 more. They installed an evol which I was able to help on often but wasnt one of the chosen younger ones. I left one night having a kidney stone passing and they basically just never let me come back. Even though I had the ER paper work. I had been out 4 days and was told that I didnt have to worry because my short term disability had kicked in and to wait until it was approved. I was just told a bunch of lies in order to have a way to get me out because they had too many extra people because of the new machine. Even though I had no attendance violations thats the way they fired me. But after a hearing with the DOL they were forced to pay my unemployment. I didnt need it because at that point I was already working for a friend framing houses. I never have been the type of person that wants to stay home. I get satisfaction from staying busy.
