I have 2 boys, and 2 girls, ages ranging from 15 to 7. My SO and I have been together for 16 years now.I grew up always knowing that I wanted to do something within the nursing community. As I graduated high school and started working I absolutely loved working within the nursing field. But after having my first daughter I quickly realized the nursing community and lifestyle wasnt the best family friendly life style. I changed my course to focus my mind on my family. Over the next few years more babies would come and our home continued to grow. During the time I was home with my little ones I would manage a store front shop with a wonderful owner who became a part of our family also. We created many memories together during the years she owned the store. My babies were always allowed to go to work with me and it allowed me to be close to them as they grew but still gave me something to keep me busy and well rounded in my career. I learned how to completely manage that store and did everything you could think of to keep the business running. Onboarding, training, payroll, scheduling, marketing, orders, and etc. If it was something that needed to be done over the years I learned it and by the time we closed the store in 2021 due to covid. I could completely run them top to bottom without the owner ever saying a word. As my babies would start going off to school I would head back to looking for work. There were times I took other jobs and also continued to help manage the storefront, during this time I also continued to keep my nursing back ground fresh with a private home health care setting. All while building my family and taking care of a home.A few years back we decided we were done. 4 babies was plenty for us. Life started getting pretty normal. All of my littles had started schoolOr daycare and so I started looking for a job I would love. A place I could call my work home. I guess you could say. I wanted a place I could have a career from. A place to grow. And further my experience with.That is when I found the doctors office. I loved it. Front desk Receptionist.. it gave me the medicine/ medical side of life but also the family side of life. I had the best of both worlds in my eyes. Work and Home balance.That is when covid showed up and life has been a whirlwind ever since. My kids school closed for what seemed like years on end, my mother had an accident that has left her a paraplegic, my SO had a car accident leaving work that fractured his spine the end of 2021, and made him go out of work after 18 years on the same job, and the most heartbreaking thing, I ended up loosing my Dad Christmas Day 2021 also.After all that, The last 3 years of our lives have been complete chaos. I have worked 2 new jobs since 2021. I took on a regional director position for a large home health care provider. Overseeing 5 different offices, making sure the office managers kept the offices running smoothly and employees schedules full, I also did all the auditing of files within those offices and kept them up to date, all ordering of supplies and maintenance inside and out of each office. In the end of 2023 I decided to no longer travel at the time my mom was having some health issues due to her accident and she needed me closer to home. I left the regional position and took a job as a Patient Access Medical Office Assistant right here close to home.Since our lives are finally getting back to what we have made our new normal since 2021. And my mom has found some wonderful dependable and trustworthy caregivers. I think its again time for me to move forward in my next steps at finding a work/home balanced career.
