My main responsibility is to fill up these bags with freight and print the label then throw it onto the conveyor belt which then carries it to the appropriate truck for further shipment.05/2014-08/2014 My time at FedEx Express was short lived but very informative. Being trained on the tug and belt loader equipment to drive the airplane canisters to correct destinations and using the loader to fill small feeder planes, i was also the unloader of such canisters. The main goal of each night was to unload each plane within a timely manor and reload new canisters to put loaded onto the planes and set to next designations.2005-2013 Starting in the store, I was an overnight cashier; helping customers, handling cash, sorting front-line freight, and shopping cart retrieval. Once moving onto a stocker, I unloaded freight, stocked shelves, put up clothes, zoned numerous areas and kept freight in correct departments in backroom. When I transferred to the distribution center, I started as a receiving unloader. This job included unloading freight with one of the forklifts or by hand, throwing onto conveyor. I also worked in staple stock and shipping, using the clamp and slip power equipment. Both of these areas I used the computer system to scan, print labels and place pallets of freight in other areas of the warehouse. Going from nights to weekend days, I was trained as an order filler, this job consisted of labeling the freight and throwing onto the conveyor belt going on to shipping. At this time, I helped in many areas from jam runner to break pack and pick filler. The opportunity came up for me to transfer to the transportation office. I was trained as a floater/on-call, working mainly with the truck drivers. Giving them their information and paperwork, I also filed and checked their payroll for any problems. Entering data from trips the drivers took to stores and answering phones from drivers and managers at stores. Then being promoted to customer service, I still did some of the same things but focused more on data entry of the stores and number of trailers shipping released. I wrote down on the workload sheet and entered in Microsoft Excel the trailer numbers and how many for each day. This position I spoke with managers more to help assist the truck drivers and any situation with the store unloading the freight. The training I have acquired from working at this warehouse has prepared me to continue working in a warehouse envionrment and given me the skills needed to advance higher in my career. |
