Each lab class accommodated 30 undergraduate students. In the lab class I discussed the theory of the experiment, demonstrated it, answered questions of the students and graded their scripts. I conducted tutorial classes on mechanics, electricity & magnetism, optics, elementary quantum physics and nuclear physics for the first-year undergraduate students. In the tutorial classes I discussed how to solve problems on different topics of physics, answered specific questions asked by the students and recorded my tutorial session. I helped my supervisor by making questions for the examinations. I managed the database of the students.Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, BRAC University, BangladeshJob Title: Teaching Assistant9/2012 12/20175/2010 7/2011 I conducted physics lab classes (mechanics, electricity & magnetism and optics) for the first and second-year undergraduate students. My duties included discussing the theories and demonstrating the experiments. I had to deal with around 45 students in each lab class. I taught the use of the software- Mathematica, in a lab class of mathematics. MAHMUD 3 I conducted tutorial classes on Newtonian mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism, calculus, analytic geometry and elementary mathematics.CONFERENCE PRESENTATION(S) and PUBLICATION(S)Journal Paper: Candidate's Name nras/article- abstract/525/1/876/7233104Contributed Talk and Conference Paper: Candidate's Name ent/7083537/ Candidate's Name arch 2010, Dhaka, Bangladesh.THESES PhD (Physics) Thesis: Analyzing Tidal Circularization in Exoplanet Systems to Determine the Tidal Dissipation Efficiency of Giant Planetshttps://hdl.handle.net/10735.1/9978 MS (Computer Science & Engineering) Thesis: GraATP: A graph theoretic approach to Automated Theorem Proving in geometryWe developed an automated theorem proving algorithm by applying graph theory. Our proposed method translates the geometric entities into nodes of a graph and the relations between them as edges of that graph. The automated system searches for different ways to reach the conclusion for a claim via graph traversal by which the validity of the geometric theorem is examined. Post Graduate Diploma (High Energy Physics) Thesis: Violation of Equivalence Principle in Scalar Tensor TheoriesIn a scalar tensor theory gravity is modified by the presence of a scalar field universally coupled to matter. The mass of this scalar field, in some models, depends on the density of matter of environment. Starting from Einstein field equation, we showed that in the environment of higher density this scalar field is screened and the theory is consistent with the equivalence principle(inertial mass is equal to the gravitational mass). On the other hand, in an environment of much lower density the scalar field is active, causing violation of equivalence principle. MAHMUD 4 BS (Physics) Thesis: Ricci Flow and Wormholes in 4D We chose metric-tensors representing the geometry of different wormholes and studied their evolution by using the technique of Ricci flow. We found that the throat of Morris-Thorne wormhole and the wormhole of bubble geometry either increases or decreases depending on the initial condition(s). We also studied the evolution of Gidding-Strominger wormhole, whose evolutionary process is affected by a spherically symmetric Kalb-Ramond field.
