My duties included: The management and staffing of this newly founded and created department. Developed, implemented, and managed the workers' compensation claim audit and operational and file review protocols. The initial review report served as the model for the Division's claim audits for other lines of business as far as documentation and format were concerned. Liaison with Underwriting Division on policy wording for the Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Policies. Analyzed reserve adequacy for the existing workers' compensation claims and established a pension reserve protocol in conjunction with consulting actuaries. Analyzed the existing reporting criteria for the policyholders and developed revised reporting criteria for reporting workers' compensation claims to AEGIS. Initially strengthened reserves by $106,000,000 on approximately 218 claims. Implemented "Rule of 90" reporting criteria for reinsurance reporting as the reinsurance treaties contained "sunset clauses". This resulted in policyholders reporting 600 previously unreported "aged" claims with an attendant AEGIS aggregate reserve of $54,000,000. Reported claims to Reinsurers via bordereaux and on an individual basis. Established criteria for proper documentation required of the policyholders for ongoing reimbursement under the indemnification contracts. Administratively managed the Claims Performance Evaluation (CPE) Process for each of my direct report claim professionals on a semi-annual basis. Delivered presentations to the Policyholders, Claims Committee and Board of Directors regarding the various programs being implemented.
