I am well versed in Special Education Law. I have taken several workshops that concentrate on academics, behavior management and the individual education plan. I have trained teachers in the procedures for support teams, functional behavior assessments and inclusive strategies.In my position as a consulting teacher, I identified the needs for professional development, assisted with curriculum and instructional initiatives, supported new teachers, planned with instructional teams, modeled lessons, supported inclusive practices and differentiated instruction, collected and analyzed data for improvement, shared data with teachers and designed plans for improvements, and completed daily documentation.I also held the position of NCLB Specialist. In this position, I completed documentation for Federal Programs, collaborated with the building principal, teachers and parents, helped with design and implementation of the SIP, NCLB Notebook, presented information to parents through Open House and Parent Involvement Nights.I have had the opportunity to be appointed as principal designee on several occasions over the past few years.
