Dear Mark:I am pleased to offer you the position of Heavy Equipment Operator Pit Loader for Vulcan Materials Company. You will receive a beginning hourly base salary of $21.00 (annual equivalent approximately $43,680.00). This position is a full-time, hourly position. If you are required to perform overtime, you will be compensated at the applicable overtime rate for any time over forty (40) hours in a week. You will be eligible for a merit review in April of each year beginning in 2023. In this role you will report directly to me, and we would like you to begin employment on or around July 26, 2022.You will be paid Biweekly on Thursday following the end of the payroll period. If you elect direct deposit, your pay will be electronically transferred no later than 5:00 p.m. If you receive a paper check, you will be paid on the job site no later than 5:00 p.m., or will be paid via regular mail to the home address designated on file with Vulcan on payday. Vulcan offers a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and participation in a 401(k) plan. You will be eligible to participate in these programs as of your first day of employment in accordance with established plan provisions. Attached, please find a brief summary of our benefits program. A comprehensive benefits review will also be provided during your onboarding. Enrollment forms and supporting documentation must be returned within 31 days of hire. Coverage begins on Day One of employment. Vulcans 401(k) plan allows for employees to contribute from 1% to 35% of their pay on a pre-tax, after-tax or Roth basis. The company will match 100% on the first 6%, and provides an annual employer contribution of at least 3% of covered pay. You will be automatically enrolled in the 401(k) plan at a 6% contribution level. You will receive an enrollment packet via the email address you will provide during the onboarding process. This package will include your PIN number and instructions for accessing your account. If you do not provide an email address, the enrollment package and PIN number will be mailed to your home address. With this online access you can make election changes or opt out of the plan. Under Company policy, you are entitled to two (2) weeks of vacation after completion of one (1) year of service. Vulcan also provides employees eleven (11) paid holidays per year (see attached benefit summary). Consistent with our practice, this offer is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, physical and drug screen prior to your start date. Upon acceptance of this offer, you will receive information from Human Resources with instructions for the completion of the drug screen and the background investigation process. You will have 72 hours, after acceptance, to complete the required screenings. If you have any questions, please call Bonnie Spencer in the Human Resources Department at 470-829-2549. Vulcan Materials Company requires your express agreement to the enclosed Arbitration Agreement in order to be considered for employment. Accordingly, you previously agreed to be bound by the enclosed Arbitration Agreement as part of your application for employment.
