I work for Dell EMC as an Enterprise Storage Architect. Our team provides workload-as-a-service (WLaaS). This service provides complete design, engineering, and implementation services for DXC and DXC customer Data Centers worldwide.
I am one of the team leads. We create new solutions for WLaaS. This includes all aspects of design, configuration, and implementation of Enterprise Storage and Backup solutions.
Our team designs and implements new solutions for internal and external DXC customers. This includes; specification, architecture, design, implementation and configuration of enterprise storage and backup systems.Our cloud design and implementations included AWS S3, using an AWS Storage Gateway with both EBS and EFS. S3 and EBS storage was utilized. AWS Glacier was used for backup redundancy. EMC Elastic Cloud Storage was also implemented.
We used Puppet to automate some storage and backup configuration and provisioning operations. I created Puppet scripts to configure and implement various storage systems.Major hardware and software products include; EMC Powermax, Pure //X Storage arrays, HPE Nimble, HPE XP7, EMC DataDomain, ScaleIO, EMC Avamar, Powerflex, and Brocade switches.
We also installed numerous Block and File based Unity systems. Unity can be an all block or block and NAS based file storage array. NTRS is a very large banking environment. NTRS provides both banking and wealth management services for institutions and individuals.
The SAN environment at NTRS is very large. The SAN consists of over 2000 SAN ports and several hundred Unix and windows-based hosts. The SAN switches consist of Mcdata DCX, 6140, and some older legacy devices. The Storage arrays are all HDS. The arrays include, USP V, USP, and the 9900 series that are now being migrated to USP V.We provide SAN architecture, design, allocation, and support for the entire NTRS enterprise.
Our group performs all aspects of these functions. I assisted in the specification of storage size and type for new hosts and applications. I added and configured new storage on existing arrays.
I zoned new hosts and modified existing zones for storage allocations. I allocated storage for new and existing hosts. I used the HDS Truecopy replication product to mirror and replicate storage to NTRS secondary DR hosts in remote locations. I wrote NTRS specific documentation for storage allocations and Truecopy replication. I assisted NTRS in creating best practices for several SAN functions and tasks.Customer: IBM Global SystemGroup: San Storage Group / Wellpoint Insurance

Wellpoint is an extremely large Storage environment. The SAN infrastructure included over 3000 san ports, 60 switches, and over 800 large host computers. Our group performed both the daily San Storage Administration and new Storage design and architecture for new applications/hardware.
Numerous EMC DMX, Symmetrix and Clarion arrays are deployed. HDS USP and 9900 series arrays are deployed.
