Architectural treatments were added to blend this structure with its surroundings. Project: Route 29 Over Black Creek, Town of Salem, Washington County Project Type: Bridge ReplacementProject Scope: The project included the design of a new 120 ft. span steel multi-girder bridge and redesign of the approach roadways and transportation appurtenances. The bridge utilized the latest bridge engineering techniques that makes this structure nearly maintenance free. The structure utilizes weathering steel for the superstructure, and integral abutments for the substructure which allows for a joint-less deck approach slab interface. Project: Route 9N Over Styles Brook, Town of Keene, Essex County Project Type: Bridge Rehabilitation-Emergency Bridge Repair Project (flood damage) Project Scope: The project scope included partial deck replacement, new bridge and guide rail and approach asphalt rehabilitation. The extreme flooding caused serve damage to the stream bank and bank protection. Realignment of the stream and bank protection was also part of the project scope.
