This included procurement of machined and purchasedparts, estimating the total cost of the project, the time required tocomplete the project and implementing the project into the companymanufacturing process(es). Some of these projects were continuousimprovement projects where new tooling samples are given to the company bytooling vendors for trial of the tooling in test material and on testparts. If the new tooling passes the trial tests it is tested in theproduct process areas of the company and then fully implemented into themanufacturing process after successful completion of testing in the productprocess areas. The following is a detailed description of myresponsibilities: . Designed and implemented safety features on process equipment, such as machine guarding and safety switches . Reduced the cost and use of special tools by implementing tooling that can be bought off the shelf. . Project engineer to implement new machines, tooling, and Macro-B CNC programming that allowed the CNC machinist to make programs at the machine without downtime, Haas and Mazak machines. . Project engineer for designing new process equipment to replace older equipment . Instructed CNC machinists on the correct use of new tooling and equipment to enhance the life of the new machines and tooling, which included step-by-step operator instructions. . Implemented ergonomic tools to assist machine operators in tooling changes. . Made CNC programs using Edgecam programming software . Successfully implemented a product line conversion from bar-stock to castings, the conversion included the design of all fixtures and the processes to machine the castings from start to finish. The processes to machine the castings included testing of new tooling to achieve the best overall performance of the machining cell. The machining cell included two lathes and two vertical machining centers with four and five axis capabilities. . Created a Bill of Material for special options so future orders of the same option would be easily made. From the BOM a kit would be made of all of the items and stocked in the parts department. . Redrew old CAD files to include revisions needed to make the parts modular and created a new drawing number to be filed in an electronic folder on the company file server. .
