I managed all Supply Chain functions for a manufacturer of decorative cast street light
poles and flagpoles to assure that they would support the strategic business
objectives and operational departmental goals.
As the Director, I was responsible for all functions within the Supply Chain including but
not limited to logistics, warehousing, inventory control, procurement, offshore
material supply and the group of professionals involved in each of these
functions.
I gathered data and submitted monthly reports on the purchasing and inventory control
functions as well as inventory metrics for the company.
I oversaw and personally negotiated supply contracts with both domestic and foreign
suppliers for materials and services needed to support the manufacturing and
strategic goals of the company.
I traveled to Asia to negotiate material contracts with suppliers and inspect and audit
production facilities to assure compliance with company needs.
Planned for and negotiated domestic contracts for goods and services to support
manufacturing and the physical facility.
Used an AS400 based BPCS system but I have experience with SAP from my time in a

I managed all Supply Chain functions and purchasing for a mid-sized electrical contractor.
Responsible for writing, negotiating and modifying standard AIA Subcontractor
agreements and following up to assure compliance prior to any payments. Prepared all
Lien Waivers and Assured they were properly executed and signed prior to payment of
any retainage
Issued purchase orders and established material supply agreements for the construction of
a $150 million dollar hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
I acted as a facility manager for the Design Electric offices and warehouses. I also contracted for
any required maintenance or repairs to these facilities or their support systems.
I utilized vendor managed inventories and consignment inventories where appropriate.

I managed a group of up to 15 buyers in all of their daily tasks and duties. Next I
established a mentoring training program for new hires to bring them up to speed faster
thus adding value to the department.
Responsible for the purchase of all semiconductor materials and equipment required for
both front end and back end manufacture of DRAM modules. All of these materials and
equipment was sourced from a group of specialized multinational companies. Analyzed
and resolved any supply chain issues for these materials.
Negotiated and contracted for materials and equipment in Europe and Asia. This
included the direct negotiation for cost terms and conditions of silicon wafers, gases,
chemicals, and other materials consumed in the manufacture of semiconductors. I also
negotiated the terms and conditions for the purchase of photo lithography and wet etch
equipment as well as back end gold bonding equipment, and intellectual property.
I managed a Purchasing budget in excess of $125 million for our factory alone. I have
done business in such countries as Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Germany,
Austria and England. I am well versed in international business, customs, contracting and
negotiations. I was part of and traveled with an ISO 9002 team that evaluated factories
and production equipment for compliance to the Process of Record for semiconductor
manufacture.

Responsible for the contracting and purchasing of raw materials such as silicon wafers,
chemicals and gases used in the manufacturing process of semiconductors. I had a one
year measurable savings of over $6 million on silicon wafers alone.
Negotiated 8 silicon wafers for the global cluster with a budget of $427 million dollars
annually.
Responsible for the purchase and installation of production facilities and capital
equipment and the required service and maintenance agreements associated with each
new generation of semiconductors.

After evaluation of proposals I made recommendations to engineering and contracted for
the equipment and any required service agreements.

production requirements from a list of qualified materials and qualified vendors. I
scheduled deliveries to meet production needs or set up JIT delivery systems for these
materials.
