Alene Candles Midwest is seeking an ICP-MS Analytical Technician. They will perform analyses in accordance with prescribed methods and standard operating procedures.

Specific Responsibilities:

The ICP-MS Analytical Technician will successfully manage the following responsibilities

  • Responsible for the entire analytical process, from sample preparation through data analysis and reporting using state-of-the-art analytical equipment such as ICP and /or ICP-MS.
  • The chemist will become familiar with a number of analytical equipment and software.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of defined areas; keep abreast of state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Participate in SOP development.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Prepare reports and records on calibration, inspection, and repair activities.
  • Exercise laboratory safety practices.
  • Strong commitment to quality and integrity.
  • Must actively participate in the laboratorys Quality System.

HOURS ARE MON-FRI 6AM -2PM

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification program of comparable scope with Chemistry and 2 or more years of experience environment working with analytical equipment.
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry related and one-year experience in a Laboratory environment working with analytical equipment.
  • Diligent work ethic and the ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details
  • Excellent at following directions
  • Clean and organized in the lab
  • Working in clean rooms with acids
  • Good hand eye coordination
  • Strong communication skills
  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to identify trends
  • High energy level, confidence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ICP / ICPMS technology highly preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to handle glassware.
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read labels.
