Job Tile: Painter 

Job Type: Full-time, permanent  

Vacancy: 1 position is available 

Wage Rate and hours: $31.00 per hour, 40 hours per week 

Start date: as soon as possible 

Job Location: various locations across Winnipeg, MB

Job requirements: 

Language: English 

Education: Not required. 

Experience: 7-12 months of relevant experience. Candidates with completion of related apprenticeship will be considered as well.

Job duties: 

Calculate the amount of material required by reading and interpreting specifications and prepare and submit the material order sheets to supervisor 

Apply paint or other material such as enamel, oil, fiberglass, metal coating using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment 

Removing old wallpapers, loose paints and prepare the surface for painting by scraping and sanding 

Repair cracks and holes in walls 

Precision in measuring and cutting of new wallpapers before applying them to walls. 

Mix and thin paint to obtain desired texture and color 

Advice and assist clients to select color and wall covering for interior and exterior surfaces and provide them estimate for the same 

Prepare, clean, sand and do drywall taping and patching on surfaces for paint 

Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages as required for each job
