A Day In The LifeThe Engineer, Maintenance II under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, will support the process to satisfy new and current customer demands at all FCI sites as to meet all customer demands. The Engineer, Maintenance II will administer an ongoing maintenance program for FCI to ensure the facility equipment is fully operational. The Engineer will perform preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, part installation and/or repairs on facility equipment. To perform this job, must be on-site for all assigned work hours.
As a Maintenance Engineer II you will: Perform a variety of complex repairs and preventive maintenance duties to ensure building equipment, production equipment, building and grounds are maintained and performing to standard. Work with minimal direction and show initiative in a teamwork environment. Demonstrate ability to respect executive confidentiality and privacy. Ensure that all assigned scheduled preventive maintenance tasks are completed. Read and interpret equipment manuals and complete work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Identify and document all problem areas. Diagnose operational problems, control and equipment malfunctions and escalate for corrective action. Detect faulty operations, defective equipment and report and document those and any unusual situations to management. Order materials as needed for maintenance and repair of equipment or systems through management. Ability to use BAS control system to operate and maintain environmental controls. Coordinate and monitor maintenance work performed by contract vendors. Mentor Maintenance I associates. Other duties as assigned to include afterhours support on a rotating schedule.
What We Need From You High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Req 3 years general maintenance experience and/or training. Experience with the operation of a Central Plant Chillers, Generators, Pumps, Compressors, Water Treatment, Etc. Air conditioning, heating, plumbing and 3-phase electrical repair knowledge. Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent diagnostic skills. Proficient with Electrical Distribution Systems and Emergency Power Generation and support. Familiarity with various federal, state and local codes on installation, fire safety, sanitation, OSHA, NFPA, High Rise Building. Computer skills including Microsoft Office, computerized PM Program (CMMS), emergency management and Building Automation Systems. Ability to apply common sense. Full time attendance at the workplace to perform the assigned maintenance duties. Work within a team effectively. Physical and Environmental RequirementsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly and repeatedly required to talk; hear; stand; walk; stoop; kneel/squat, climb, use hands and fingers, to handle, grip/squeeze and/or feel; push/pull and reach with hands and arms. The associate will be frequently required to balance; crouch, or crawl; reach over-head and taste or smell. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, night vision, and ability to adjust focus.
