Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Sparks, Nevada Salary: $80-100K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Manufacturing Engineer: The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and development process of mechanical systems and components. The primary responsibilities will be to create accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and models using computer-aided design (CAD) software as well as to document, design, and improve the manufacturing processes necessary to manufacture existing and future product designs. Job Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer: Utilize CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and part designs (OnShape, Solidworks, etc). Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and other technical documentation to produce accurate and precise drawings. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for mechanical design and drafting. Convert conceptual models into practical, functional, and manufacturable product drawings. Attend and manage design reviews to identify and resolve potential issues related to manufacturability, assembly, and performance. Thoroughly document existing manufacturing processes, including workflow, equipment used, and time cycles. Develop and implement improvements to existing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. Design and establish new manufacturing processes for upcoming products, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and sustainable. Maintain processes, forms and documentation as required by ISO 9000. Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs). Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, and others as needed to ensure seamless product development and implementation. Apply lean methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Educate and involve employees in continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of ongoing development. Lead trainings to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions collaboratively.
Education & Experience of the Manufacturing Engineer: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline required. 3-5 years of experience in design/mechanical engineering, including development and documentation of new products. Previous experience in the design and manufacturing of heavy-duty industrial products is strongly desired. Experience with lean manufacturing tools and utilization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is required. Experience with Syteline is a plus.
