Wayfair LLC seeks Senior Data Engineer (Multiple Positions) in Boston, MA:

Job Duties: Lead the development and delivery of a wide range of data products from generation to consumption. Design the data solution roadmap through collaboration with other key stakeholders. Act as a subject matter expert to leadership for technical guidance, solution design and best practices. Design and implement big data architecture, data pipelines, reporting, dashboarding, data exploration, processes and quality controls to enable self-service Business Intelligence. Keep current on big data and data visualization technology trends. May manage and mentor associates based on business needs. Develop a technical center of excellence within the analytics organization through training, mentoring and process innovation. Implement an approach to monitor adherence to Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Position is based in Boston, MA office; however, telecommuting may also be allowed. Salary: $148,762 to $197,465 (WFMA055)

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management, Statistics or a related quantitative field plus two (2) years of experience in a quantitative or technical work environment. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management, Statistics or a related quantitative field degree plus five (5) years of post-bachelor’s, progressive experience in a quantitative or technical work environment.

Special Skill Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
1. Programming languages including Python, R, Scala, or Java;
2. SQL;
3. Designing database schemas and dimensional data modeling;
4. Developing in cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure or Snowflake at scale;
5. Designing and building Big Data pipelines, architectures and data sets using real-time data streaming tools including Kinesis, Apache Storm, Sqoop, Apache Kafka, Spark, HDFS, Hive, Apache Hadoop, Apache Flink, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, or HP Vertica; and
6. Working with high level business stakeholders, synthesizing conclusions for non-experts, and influencing business decisions by creating high quality presentations and documentations using PowerPoint, Excel or Google Suite (Docs/Slides/Sheets).
