Lead the Regulatory Affairs function with an emphasis on serving internal and external customers and internal business units, driving business impact and contributing to value creation. Provide thought leadership, strategy and governance regarding regulatory matters directly and through indirect reports across the world, allocating resources and driving people development. Provide cross-unit regional regulatory support. Provide toxicology and regulatory expert advice and contributions to support Science & Research and innovation teams to identify and develop new materials, products and technologies, ensuring a strong network and close relationships. Promote the company’s fundamentals and regulatory standards across the Health, Nutrition and Beauty industries and within the company; advocate company priorities within the broader industry. Lead the continuous improvement of the Regulatory function through agility, simplicity and customer intimacy. Directly supervise direct reports at the Departmental Head level (currently 7 employees), and oversee an organization of regulatory experts (currently 140 employees). Up to 25% travel (including international) for: customer visits, primarily in Europe; external stakeholder meetings, including global authorities, trade associations, and scientific organization; internal meetings.
Requires a PhD in Food Sciences, Chemistry, Nutrition Science, or a related scientific field, as well as at least 3 years of experience leading large teams (i.e. 100+ people) in Regulatory Affairs for the Food, Chemical, Pharma, or Animal Nutrition industry (or a Master’s degree in Food Sciences, Chemistry, Nutrition Science, or a related scientific field, and 6 years of such experience). Must have experience with: high level of stakeholder management; global regulatory affairs knowledge and experience; skillfully communicating between customers, regulatory authorities, and external organization; working in a matrixed organization; leveraging connections throughout the industry.
