Smoky Mountain Court, Inc. dba Smoky Mountain Inn & Suites has one opening available for the position of Purchasing Agent with the following qualifications:

Requires U.S. Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in any field. Demonstrated knowledge in negotiating contracts for procurement operations; recording procurement transactions for accountability; and analyzing budget reports to determine price points and inventory requirements. Background check required.

Job duties for the position include:

Sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing quality goods and services essential for hotel's operations. Prepare purchase orders and review requisitions for goods and services. Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate terms and conditions to secure favorable terms and pricing. Analyze price proposals to determine reasonable prices. Ensure accuracy and completeness in procurement documentation. Conduct cost analysis to optimize purchasing decisions. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with relevant departments to determine inventory needs. Monitor and control the hotel's inventory levels to prevent overstock. Implement inventory management systems to track and reorder supplies as needed. Source products and services that meet quality standards. Address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain and review computerized records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. Work closely with finance to manage the procurement budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Liaise with various departments to understand their purchasing requirements.
