The Associate Director (ADCCS) will report to the Director of Care & Clinical Services. The primary responsibility of this role is Care Center and family support and engagement, oversight of program Coordinators, and support of Director in oversight of program Specialists. This individual will oversee Care Center responsibilities and the implementation of support, education and engagement programs for the community MDA serves in their territory. S/he will direct/co-direct summer camp session(s) and is responsible for planning, volunteer recruitment and implementation supported by national initiatives. Additionally, the Associate Director will resume the responsibilities of the Director of Care & Clinical Services in the event the Director position is vacantmay be asked to assist with other high-level initiatives within the territory. The Associate Director will be engaged in clinical settings, but will not at any time provide direct patient care or dispense medical advice.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with MDA Care Centers; frequent communication with Care Center team members, strong working relationships with the Care Center team members, including the Care Center Director(s)
- Manage Coordinators in the territory and support the Director in the oversight and management of Specialists in the territory
- Coordinate with Associate Directors in all other territories nationwide with regard to scheduling of community events and educational programs, including disease specific and advocacy conferences/seminars
- Develop and maintain accurate and complete list of events and activities for the territory, including pertinent details around accountabilities, budgets, and other aspects as set out in national event and activity calendar template
- Support Director in annual strategic planning and business planning activities
- Support Director in management of budgets and financial accountability for territory
- In conjunction with Director, develop and maintain site visit schedule to care centers in the territory
- Attend select MDA Care Center(s) in the territory as the MDA representative
- Responsible for the registration of families, assisting current families and maintaining the family database
- Direct/co-direct summer camp session(s) as necessary, requires overnight travel and stays at camp
- Works with Director to implement program improvement modifications
- Become knowledgeable of state and local resources that could benefit MDA’s community, includes sharing information with MDA’s National Resource Center
- Development and management of annual family outreach plans for the territory
- Support Director in oversight and management of community programs
- Assume the role within the territory of Director of Care & Clinical Services during a vacancy and/or time off/PTO/leave
- Assist and work closely with the Director with ensuring quality data management throughout the territory
- Lead Care Center calendar, activities and events calendars, and tracking initiatives within the territory
- Supporting the Director of Care & Clinical Services as needed on projects and initiatives
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor degree in a social services or health-related field and significant related experience is required. Advanced degree in a related field is desired.
- A minimum of 4 years of previous experience in health care institutions, voluntary health organizations or related field or industry preferred.
- Previous experience managing or leading a project and/or team.
- Successful track record in program implementation and relationship building.
- Advanced level Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, design programs and customer relationship management software.
- Ability to travel and navigate geographically-diverse markets. Overnight travel will be required. Travel percentage varies based on territory. Reliable transportation required with proof of valid Driver’s license.
- Comfortable interacting with families from diverse disability, cultural and economic backgrounds within a semi-medical environment.
