Mathison is seeking a highly qualified Business Strategy Analyst to work with one of our exclusive clients. 



The Opportunity 

Our client is looking for a Business Strategy Analyst to help their more than 90 million registered hourly workers and nearly 500,000 employer locations find hourly jobs and workers on their platform. As a Business Strategy Analyst, you will build insights through quantitative analysis to inform new strategies and optimize existing ones. The ideal candidate for this position can communicate complex analysis to all audiences and will work with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams across the company's teams to help us better serve both workers and employers. 

This role will be based in their Richmond, VA office. 

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the company's business model, KPIs, and metrics 


• Build expertise in their B2B relationships and develop analysis to identify drivers of retention, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities 


• Perform quantitative analysis using a variety of tools such as SQL, Looker, and Tableau 


• Develop dashboards and automated reporting to track core metrics and KPIs 


• Package analysis in a digestible way to share with teams across the company 


• Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary relating to product improvements/enhancements, financial forecasting and budgeting, and marketplace dynamics 

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Math, Engineering or Statistics and 1-2 years of analyst experience or equivalent experience working on real-world quantitative projects in an academic setting 


• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills 


• Natural curiosity to ask and answer questions through data analysis 


• Ability to perform in a fast paced environment with emphasis on continuous testing and improvement 


• Previous experience using SQL and other data manipulation languages preferred 


• Previous experience using Business Intelligence tools (eg. Tableau, Looker, Cognos, etc.) preferred
