Custodial Worker

Harrold Campus, Masonville, NY

Director of Facilities ll  

 

TERMS:

Full-time;  2nd Shift  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a clean, valid New York State Driver’s license. Knowledge of acceptable cleaning practices in a school environment preferred. Experience in floor care, floor care equipment, and daily cleaning techniques. Must be a self- motivated and task oriented individual, who can follow directions and perform a variety of routine manual tasks. May be asked to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work independently or as part of the team. BOCES is willing to train the proper candidate.  



RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Floor care on VCT, ceramic, and terrazzo tile such as sweeping, dust mopping, mopping, striping, and waxing. Carpet care vacuuming, spot removal, and steam cleaning. Dusting and washing windows and window sills. Daily and weekly assigned cleaning of the classrooms, restrooms, offices and common areas. Replace blown light bulbs and broken or stained ceiling tiles. Set up and break down for evening classes, meetings, and special events. 

 

SALARY/BENEFITS:

$11.80 - $12.80 per hour depending on experience, generous benefits and leave benefits based on the BOCES Educational Support Personnel Association (BESPA) contract.
