Well known local food manufacturer is seeking a n Dock Worker (link removed) This employee will operate a stand up forklift, load and unload trucks, handle documentation, double check orders and backup warehouse supervisor as necessary.
Essential Duties and Functions include the following.
Receive and accurately record finished goods from all production lines (Shred, Mozzarella, and Ricotta).
The safe and proper operation and maintenance of assigned forklift.
The proper loading and unloading of trucks.
Filling out paperwork completely and accurately.
Checking orders for accuracy and completeness prior to loading truck.
Any additional assignment that would be performed by Dock employees.
Any general dairy work as assigned.
Qualifications :
Must have experience operating a STAND UP forklift
Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check
Education and/or Experience : A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Language Skills : The ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and management.
Mathematical Skills : A basic, working mathematical aptitude is required. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Reasoning Ability : The individual is responsible for his/her own work. They must be able to multitask.
Certificates, Licenses, Requirements : A forklift/pallet jack license is preferred, but not required for hiring. Forklift training and license will be administered after employment (link removed)>Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
The job requires some lifting (up to 43+ lbs) and bending. The employee will from time to time be required to continuously lift 30 lbs. The job also requires standing, bending, walking, and sitting. Must be able to lift wooden pallets (50-90 lbs), throughout the course of a day. The job requires that pallets be wrapped with stretch wrap. This is occasionally done by hand. Individuals will be required to make multiple revolutions around a pallet with the wrap.
Work Environment : Daily operations are conducted in a refrigerated warehouse. The temperature is maintained at 36 degrees. Forklift operators will also be required to operate in narrow racking and must be able to do so without damaging said racking or product. From time to time the floors will be moist due to condensation. The dock is a high traffic area, and safety must be paramount.
