GIS IT Project Manager (Remote with Quarterly Travel)

We have an immediate need for a contract GIS IT Project Manager to join a government organization in WA. The IT Project Manager will utilize their expert-level knowledge, extensive experience, and expertise in managing projects involving Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and process modernization.

Location: Remote working Pacific Time Zone hours. Quarterly travel to Tumwater, WA for a week at a time.

This job expects to pay about $60 - 75 per hour plus benefits.

What Gets You The Job: 

• Expert Level experience, (minimum of ten years), as a Lead Project Manager with direct, personal, experience in enterprise GIS Projects (ArcGIS, etc)
• Expert Level experience, (minimum of eight years), in agile project management methodologies leading cross-functional teams, managing and executing sprints, engaging business owners, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget.
• Expert Level experience, (minimum of six years), directly managing projects implementing enterprise-level geographic information system technology solutions.
• Expert Level experience managing projects that migrate manual processes to digital systems, port data between systems using APIs or other data integration or interoperability solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Expert PM Level of experience in Microsoft Office applications, MS Project, including Visio.
• Preferred: Prior IT Project Management experience managing projects involving modernizing a transportation agency’s Linear Referencing System with ESRI’s GIS technologies
• Preferred: Prior experience in the creation of Request For Information (RFI), Request For Proposal (RFP), and Request For Quotation (RFQ) solicitations
• Preferred: Prior IT Project Management migrating applications to a more modern, vendor hosted Software as a Service (SaaS) or Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) solution.
• Preferred: A current certification as a Project Management Institute – Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is desirable.
