Description: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies Inspect kitchens and food service areas Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food Order supplies and equipment Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment Clean kitchen and work areas Organize and manage buffets and banquets Manage kitchen operations Food safety/handling skills QUALIFICATIONS & KEY ATTRIBUTES High school diploma Formal training in Asian food culinary arts is preferred Minimum 1 year of commercial cooking experience (Vietnamese, Cantonese, Asian cuisine, and/or Deep Frying) Food Handler certificate is a must Ability to work independently Be positive and has a willingness to learn Organizational Skills Works well under pressure Flexible schedule (must be available evenings and weekends) Excellent communication skills Language requirement: English French is not required Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time 40 hours / week Only apply to this job if: You are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
