Welder

DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time, production worker position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS TO BE PERFORMED:

• Run overhead crane system to handle steel beams, plates and assemblies.


• Read blueprint drawings to obtain necessary information to apply correct weld and thickness.


• Operate all welding machines and position welding and needle guns to perform all required welding operations, including connecting cables from power source to welder; striking arc; guiding electrode along lines to weld plate to beam; apply needle gun to clean weld and remove slag.


• Load weld wire spools as required.


• Utilize welding machines continuously, loading weld equipment cutting equipment, using needle gun to clean slag.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Welding experience required, preferably with mig (spray arc)


• Must be able to utilize chains, grabs, etc. to rig steel for handling.
